I was using my J1 this morning and got thinking about something... I know that production of Schick Injector razors for the consumer market was halted during WWII. I was wondering if there was any production exclusively for the military? If so, how would one identify such a razor? Thanks...
There was. They had Navy blue or butterscotch bakelite handles and gold head. They came in a Navy blue or red leather covered clamshell case in a cardboard box. The blades came in black metal injectors. They were produced from 1942-1943 for the military only. The case would be the best way to identify such a wartime production razor.
http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/canadian-schick-injector.9362/ @AsylumGuido has such a razor, though it was misidentified by members here. His is a wartime production model, exclusive to the Canadian armed forces.
Here's a pic of the WWII Navy issued E3. Notice the cream colored handle with the spring with flaps - dead giveaway.
