I avoid using Astra, Feather and other blades with wax spots in TTO razors because of all the mess which is not easy to clean in a TTO and blade sticking to the doors as well. Nevertheless, I did want to try Astras in my new Krona. I carefully removed the spots (90% of them) with an old razor. It was fast and easy and it worked. The shave was very smooth, by the way. I like that long ATG strokes with pressure applied! That's why I like mild razors.

I don't let 'em bother me.
But that's me. I know the wax bugs a lot of folks.

I don't notice the spots either. I don't think I've ever noticed them sticking in a TTO.

I use Feather blades and also notice the wax spots. It has never been a problem for any of my razors, including my Parker 99R. I normally remove the blade after the second shave and dispose of it. At that point, I clean my razor under the tap and leave it out to dry for the next day's shave. :happy088:

I wipe the wax off my Feathers before I put them in my razor. I also clean my razor after each use, but that's just me.

+6 For no bother. I have started cleaning my razor after each use, just use a toothbrush with a little soap.

I don't exactly dislike them. If they are that big of an issue you can always lay the blade with the spots down so they do not stick to the doors.

Then they stick to the base of the head.

    Just sayin'.

Hot Water should solve the issue.

Like I said, the spots don't bother me. And hot water doesn't take the spots off completely.
