    Hello

I've been eyeballing the Weber a bit too much. But it seems people can't agree on how it shaves.

    Some say it's too mild.
    Some say it's too aggressive.
Some say the finish is not top dollar.
Some say the finish is among the best.
Some say it doesn't shave very close.
Some say they get the closest shaves ever.
Some say it's very picky about blades.
Some say it shaves excellent with almost any blade out there.
Some say it shaves like a Fatboy on 5-6.

Then there's some consensus - almost everyone says it shaves a bit more aggressively than the Mühle R89, but only by a margin. That seems manageable.

But seriously.. come on!! I don't believe it can divide the waters so much. At $130 I need to know what I'm buying.

Let me put it this way: I'm getting excellent very very close shaves with my R89 and the right blade and technique. I get terrible shaves with the wrong blade. I get excellent shaves with my Fatboy on 5 and the right blade and I get terrible shaves with the wrong blade.

I know it's not a slant, it's no R41, it's no straight and whatever. But to me, my R89 shaves very close. I know it's relatively seen as it for others may not be that close. But if the Weber shaves a wee bit closer or the same, then it's more than close to me. Closer and I'm scraping my skin of instead...

Will I like this razor maybe? :)

    Dispelling some myths...
Weber is on the mild side. Too mild for those who like aggressive razors, too agressive for those who like an uber mild shave.
Fit/Finish/Value is very good at this price point
Like all razors, some blades will be better than others for your beard.

The shave? The DE89 and Weber are pretty close. The Weber is perhaps a hair more aggressive, but there really isn't that much difference. Many newer users haven't dialed in the angle and believe it is much more aggressive than it is.

Thank you for the opinion. Will have to watch that.

So by aggression we're talking how close we can get a shave and not how much it wants to cut out throat if not being careful?

I find the R89 aggressive as in I can get BBS without cutting my throat. If Weber is like that I'll love it.

The Weber is a great razor. I love mine and it shaves a bit better than my EJ89. I'm confused however. You say that at $139 you need to be sure. Weber sells the razors on their website for $70.

Our friend Martin lives in Denmark. That might factor in the high price he listed. They have a ton of fees along with shipping.

I heard they don't ship to many places in Europe - why is that?

That is correct. $70 + $14 in shipping. Then comes tax, customs and customs fee. But that is also worst case scenario. Best case, I'll be done with the shipping fee alone. But I need to factor the customs in before ordering so I don't get a nasty surprise.

That sounds reassuring. I do love the way my R89 (same as your EJ) shaves. So a bit better sounds great!

    I'm useless.

1 Weber (polished head) w/Bulldog handle on it's way to Denmark.

If I don't like it, I'll emigrate to warmer places. Then the cold here has taken it's toll on my mind!

Welcome to Denmark. Where the weather is cold and nasty, and the customs department is lunatic. But we have nice strawberry cakes, so we've got that going for us, which is nice!

Can't wait to receive it! I'll post some when it get here :)

LOL it's already shipped - merely a few hours after I ordered it. Now, if customs are not into play, I should be getting it start next week. Else I'll have to wait a few weeks, should I know them right.
