... of course, the 'year' didn't make the difference but moreso experiencing the products and practicing the skills

one year ago today, i had my first DE shave. it was tense, anxious, filled with a tinge of red ... but exciting and enjoyable none-the-less

this morning, i went back to some of my original products ... EJ89, proraso green, EJ best badger, etc.

no tension, no anxiety, no red ... all enjoyment, a smooth, smooth shave, and nary an irritated skin cell

and perhaps the best part ... sharing the journey with these TSD folks and my evangelites

I've been DE shaving for about 4 years, to the best of my memory, but I still remember well the first DE shave. I too approached it with no small amount of trepidation, but excited nonetheless. And I didn't cut my face off! It took me around 2 weeks or so to get the hang of it, and a few more months to really get a good technique. I've loved it all along, and will never go back.

I've converted a few friends, who in turn have converted a few others. And I'm about to convert my brother!

Congratulations on a year. My first DE shave was a year ago Christmas. I also remember it well and will never go back to carts. I discovered this great group of enablers just shy of a year ago and enjoy sharing the journey as well. Have fun!

Right there with ya, been wet shaving about a year and a half. Still remember my anxiety attack the first time I went to put that blade to my skin! Got several cuts and nicks here and there. Now I can shave with DE's, Shavettes and Straights generally without seeing any red. Practice makes perfect!

Ditto, I just celibrated my 1st year as well (not counting the first pass in the 60's) I think without the advice and encouragement here, it would have been no better than when I was 16, so I would most likely still have my beard:) Congrats on sticking with it!
