My LORD tech clone is a personal favorite. Nothing fancy, a little on the light side, but very consistent. Perfect for mornings when I'm less than awake.
Is that Gillette New LC just in virtually NOS condition or did somebody re-plate it for you? And if so, who? Because it looks absolutely sensational...
The 2011 is more aggressive. I find the difference large enough that I even bought a back up. I also took up straight razors just in case both razors fall to the zamac curse.
Of the razors available for anyone, Mühle R41 and Merkur 15C are my absolute favorites. I am having another option I am considering once the Zamak will begin to fail: Making a long lasting R41 myself. I have begun creating a 3D model of R41 with some minor modification I want: The geometry, when looking from the side, will be unmodified. The screw will come up at a slight angle to make it like a tilted head slant. The teeth in the comb will not have the bar above, it will be a true open comb. There are several companies on the net who will 3D-print it in stainless steel, once I have the model ready. Now, all I would need is some time to finish the project ...
I can get near BBS from two passes on the 11' where it takes three passes and a touch-up from the 13'.
For my face, Blackland Blackbird in modern. In vintage, it depends on the day - Gillette Adjustable, NEW LC or SC. Asking me to pick one is like asking me to pick only 1 of my sons to keep. Impossible. I get near BBS daily with all of these razors.
I'll play. This changes as often as there are days in the week, but my Weber PH is hard to beat (For me) As pictured with a RazoRock Bamboo handle, this Stainless Steel handle for $12 is a steal.
Gillette NEW SC(ca. 1932-1940) hands down. Once I'm done with my current Focus shave, the next one will be to figure out the right blade/razor combination for it.
