Well, she just needs to understand your "Stropping" needs, and possibly make a "Stropping Video" for you. :happy097:

Good thing I read this thread after I shaved but before stropping.

Tonight's shave was with Japanese razor that I've used a few times. I had a close two pass shave, with minor touch-ups. Smooth results. Still loving these Japanese Razors.

Evening shave...continuing the consecutive days with 'Big Sheffield' theme with this 9/8" full hollow 'FBU' beauty from William Greaves & Sons. I didn't think I'd care for a blade this large (6/8" is my preferred size), but this razor is such a smooth and comfortable shaver, I forget about the blade breadth and simply love the feel in the hand and on the face. :happy088:

Tonight's shave was with a Japanese razor I haven't used in a while. When someone says their razor is scary sharp, that is what this one is, scary sharp. When shaving, I had the blade about flat, only a spines width away from the skin, for the spine. I felt no resistance, and very little sound. I thought it wasn't cutting, but it left the skin BBS . Even around the chin, it was smooth as silk. I had a two pass shave, with three tiny nicks. It turns out there were three tiny bumps, that had just been cut down a little. I didn't even feel it. BBS results.
Still loving my Welsh Slate Stones, and Japanese Razors.

After getting my last razor back from @gssixgun I decided to see if I could get a better shave with this. Glen dod my last razor on a Thuri. Man what a nice shave those are.

Anyhow, this blade takes a really nice edge on my Naniwa's. The only thing was the smoothness. I took this to my Thuri for 100 laps. Starting with a slurry then diluting finally to water.

This transformed the shave. Still wicked sharp, only super smooth now. My 3 favorite razors now are my 2 from Glen and this one. All 3 were done on naturals. 2 thuri's and 1 coti.

My face must prefer natural finishes.

Amazing how quickly one goes from zip knowledge to educated opinions.
Take note new guys, the learning curve is steep, but a little stick-to-itness and determination, and you'll be astraight razor shaver.
    Well done Tom.

    Thanks.

Funny how getting a blade done by a pro with a couple of different stones can educate one so fast. I thought my honing was ok with the Naniwa's. But wow do I feel a difference with naturals.

I am sure all blades have a life of their own. So I am pleased to have the new found knowledge to try a different finisher if my shave is lacking.

This is going to be a VERY DEEP HOLE

Looking forward to really start digging.

    Tom

    It's a good thing it's NB 17! We'll see how long I last.

I wish I had the time on weekdays for an SR shave, but the schedule doesn't allow it. I just have to wait for those work from home days and weekends. If not for that, I could see my SR collection, hones and strops multiplying like the fans of Tom's bunny razor!
