If you ask the question, you already have your answer. :D
Start your collection, with the ones that you find interesting. The good thing about collecting Straight Razors is that the used one's are inexpensive, and as long as there isn't major hone wear, and rust, they usually turn out to be very good shaving razors.

You gotta make yourself happy. If your happy with the ones you have, so be it. If you want and can have more, that's good too.
I have more than i can use. I made sure a straight was ready for today's shave, then on a whim, decided to use a DE. Bottom line is, make yourself happy.

Razor: Clauss/Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: That Darn Rob silvertip
    Soap: L&L Grooming Marshland
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Alum
    Osage Rub
    Aftershave: Fine Green Vetiver

Another day of straights and another blood free shave. I'm only using the straight for the sides of my face and neck, still don't feel comfortable enough to use it around my mouth. First pass was with the Supply to cut down several days of growth. Then I used the baseball pattern for lathering and took my time with the Clauss. The L&L was great for this, very slick and didn't break down even with the extra time taken. Still only going with the grain but I got nice results. Three passes with the straight and a follow up cleanup pass with the Supply and I'm BBS. I thought for sure the alum would burn like crazy but it only tickled in a few spots. Followed up with the Fine Green Vetiver for a great start to my Sunday. Have a great day folks!

You are going about it the right way. Slow and steady. Before you know it you will be selling all of your other razors.

Or, just packed away in boxes, so when I'm too old to use Straights, I can break out the DE razors again.

The Wade & Butcher on the Arkie was a really enjoyable shave today. I could tell the difference right away by the softer feel. On a more objective note, I've noticed my shaves with the Arkie finished razors have required fewer touch-ups and limited noise from the alum. :happy088:

Today's shave was really satisfying. :happy036:

That sounds like a plan. I was wondering how I could justify keeping my safety razors.

I had a great 3 pass shave with my newly acquired Duck. It took the Thuri finish fantastically. It cut my 3 days with ease.

Tonight's shave was with another blade that has been a mediocre performer, in the past. I took it to the Arkansas Surgical Black stone, and it is now a first class shaver. I had a wonderful two pass shave, with BBS results.

Two Thistle razors. Wood handled one is etched "Turkish American Razor" and was made in Ohio. Black handled one was made in NY. Both with a fresh JNat edge, and good shaves.
