Tonight's shave was with a Shiny Sheffield. I also used some vintage Avon Spicy Bar Soap. I had a nice shower with the soap. It has the scent of the Aftershave, just not as strong. It cleans well, it just does not have the moisturizing ability of the Yardley Bar Soap I use daily. The shave went super smooth, and I was left with BBS results. Excellent razor.

    Bath Soap- Vintage Avon Spicy
    Razor- Wade & Butcher
Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple. WD Silvertip Knot.
    Shave Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy Scented.
    Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy.

Here's a 3-day synopsis. Day before yesterday, my re-refreshed Tanifuji MaxFli 100, AdP cream and Harris Pink, yesterday a new-to-me Gold Rex in almost new condition, honed by the previous owner with tape ao a full synth progression to 20k and finished with CrOx and leather. Good edge, but still a synth/CrOx edge, so I re-set the bevel sans tape with a Shapton 4k, then put a full jnat edge on it. Shaved like a dream. Soap was I Coloniali Mango Oil lathered with a Tulip 2, Lucky Tiger immediately then followed with I Coloniali Rhubarb balm.

    Cheers, Steve

Herr Wacker grinds are absolutely phenomenal! Takes a scalpel edge and keeps it forever.

Not today's shave, but I'm really getting to like the job this old vintage Engström does. So close that I could easily skip a day. A quality, and classy, tool.

I like that Engström! I also like that wood that it's sitting on, that would make beautiful jnat bases. If you find one day that someone has cut a section out of your deck rail.....

    Cheers, Steve

I'm keeping an eye on you, buddy! That rail is nothing more than select redwood, basic stuff if you don't go with something synthetic, like Trex.

Dang, I'm going to have to "Up my game", to compete with today's posted razors.

I think Port Orford cedar is a good choice, a lot of it is exported to Japan for temples and tearooms because it's very close to their traditional wood for such uses. Now I can get enough for a deck easily enough ($$$) but just a few small pieces are actually more difficult to source.

Continuing with the trial of the Cremo SC, today was with a newly acquired
Hairop Barbers Pride 1072 extra hollow ground Japanese SR
Delivered a nice close 2 pass shave.
After Hot water prep with a towel, Lathered in a bowl with round synth brush and a touch of hot water, used twice the amount of Creme and got a reasonable lather, decent cushion. Much better performance this way than following the directions on the tube. But it uses a fair amount more...
Followed up with Stirling Blu AS

Cleaned, polished and honed this one earlier today. It was 1 of the razors I picked up last weekend. Might need a little more work on the stones, but still gave me a DFS.
