    The cap and the handle looks like Gillette OLD type, with the ball end missing, but that guard!!! :eek:

    Hair trimmer?

    Is an old razor for shaving off long beard that's why you're seeing a very strange base plate, if they can't find a knife or scissor to trimmed the beard short before shaving.

    Yep, a hair trimmer. My wife brought one home from a little ship the other day, too. Put the bottom plate from an old type in it and it might work.
