I've never seen a commercial bread round before. Bakery bread yes. And I do agree that it would make a great bologna sandwich.
The wife got back from Australia yesterday - woke up sick (why am I not surprised) - so I'm making her a big pot of chicken soup from scratch for tonight's meal. As for me - I'm in the office on the computer talking to you guys while enjoying a bottle of fine bourbon.
Just got the "good" news that my son is on the deployment list for Korea. After his promotion to Capt. in May he was supposed to stay with the Rear Detachment and then go to his Captain's Career Course. Now he's been assigned to Battalion staff. Not a happy Trooper.
I know the feeling. However at this stage of his career he needs the Battalion Staff experience. The secret to a successful Army career is a well rounded experience of all the various needs of the military. It will serve him well. Learn from it and remember it. There will be a time when it will come back to him and help him make the right decision for his soldiers and the greater good of the Army. He will do well. Hooah!
Took Herself out tonight to a restaurant the next town over. Rossi's Bar & Grill. Great burgers. Ate like a king. Piece of cheesecake at home.
As it was last night, leftover stuffed peppers. Got the Jersey Fresh peppers at the fleamarket on Sunday. There is still some stuffing left and I have been promised more peppers toward the end of the week. Yeah buddy!!
Hmm.... that reminds me... I need better friends. lol. (Or at least ones who will bring me lobster) I had dandan noodles for the first time tonight. Very spicy but oh so satisfying.
The friends I was speaking of were the lobsters themselves. I have them flown in for birthdays and our anniversary. Actually not that expensive.
My lovely daughter is on kitchen duty, while we wait she brings me a couple pieces of candy. She whispers "don't let mom see"
I used up some left over pecan smoked sirloin roast from last weekend and made fajitas with peppers, onions, and tomatoes from the garden. Added a nice slab of avocado, a few drops of homemade reaper sauce, and a good beer.
