My favorite shavers are the #15 Aristocrat and the Aristocrat Jr.'s. Think Rockets, but with more weight and heft to them, and better quality. If you have a Canadian rocket with the flat baseplate, then you've already used an Aristocrat Jr.
On looks? The President or a nickel plated NEW, like Jayaruh just posted. On shave? The President or any pre-flare tip TTO (not including the Red Tip, which is also verra nice). But you know what? Gillette made decent to excellent razors but they never made one that wasn't good.
yes sir,my canadian 430030 arist jr is my favourite at present.i am waiting on a #1 rocket and a #7 rocket hd.
Many great razors here. At the moment I would have to say that it is my 1949 Executive. But for me it's very difficult to say, as it seems to revolve around which one I am using at the moment or the mood: Nickel Tech, Super Adjustable, Aristocrat #16, Adjustable Toggle, NEW Improved, Old Type, etc...
My number one is the thick cap '21~'28 ball-end Old type, with the pre-war triangle slot Tech coming in a close second!
My NEW Short Comb ca. 1932-1940. If you pinned me down, I'd probably use it as my daily-daily, but I like my '71 SA-109, and EJ DE89 too. The jury is still out on the Parker 99r.
I never developed any fondness for any particular Gillette as a shaving tool, but I'll hang on to my silver Single Ring because it looks so gorgeous. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Lots of options and opinions. You can't really go wrong with all that have been suggested. I know you asked about Gillettes, but if you stumble upon a Schick Krona while you're searching, grab it! Every wet shaver should at least try one...an unsung DE. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I only have one vintage Gillette - a 1961 G1 Fatboy - therefore its my favorite. Having said that, it really is a wonderful razor. Since I received it 2 weeks ago - its the only razor I have used.
Very nice Col. I'm hoping to run across one at the fleamarket this Spring...like I need another razor.
