Which One...........

I have two Gem Micromatic Closed Comb razors in cases. They are in different types of cases and I am wondering if I should keep both, or just one and sell the other. There is one thing about the Bakelite cased Gem, both blade holders are marked "New Blades", don't know why. So the question is would you keep both, or sell one. And which would you keep..........

 

I personally would keep the one on the right. I like the leather look and the metal blade holder.

 

I would keep both, but I am spending a year using only the clog pruf.

If one was to go, I would keep the nicer of the two razors (better finish and blade stops) and the case on the left.

 

I probably should've mentioned that I haven't cleaned or polished the right one yet. Just got it today.

Must have wanted it to have purchased (acquired it). So, keep it. It won't eat much, won't bother the others in the collection. Has it's own case, I'd say give it a good home.

 

I do like both of them. Also, there was a brush included with the one on the right, which I wanted. It was a pretty good deal and almost worth the price just for the brush.

 

Anything free is clear profit.

Both. It's seems like when I let go of a razor I end up buying another replacement.

 

Is your goal to shave with them or keep them as collectibles?

 

I collect, but I pretty much use what I collect.

 

It’s a tough choice. Duplicates in my collection are beginning to drive me crazy as they don’t get enough use. That’s just me.

Sell your duplicates. Plenty of razors out there you haven't checked out I'm guessing.

When I run into this problem, I look at the best razor of the 2 and then look at the cases.... which one appeals to you more? I usually put the best razor with the case I want. If it were me, I’d keep the Bakelite case if there are no issues.

 

They are both very nice, and yet not the same, so you don't have two that are identical. Therefore; you must keep them both!

If you sell one you WILL regret it.

 

Do you collect razors or sets?

 

If I was going to keep, display and use mine, I'd go with the one on the left.

 

Keep the one on the right and send me the one on the left. Done.

 

I started out just getting razors, but now trying to get cased sets. Also looking at cases for the ones without them.
