Which shave element?

I remember a similar thread and poll to this from a while back. Simply, what element in your shave do you labor over or debate the most?

For me it is soap. I have several soaps and enjoy all of them. It's a tough decision to determine what to use.

What about for you?

 

Only razors. One brush, half dozen soaps, about 30 razors in rotation.

It's almost a toss-up for me between soap/cream or after shaves. I voted for after shaves though. I like to pair AS splashes with whatever soap I use that day. And as I have a few splashes that go well with particular soaps, that's usually my challenge in deciding.

 

I have so many razors, I am trying to give them all some love.

 

Since I only have four razors, and you can only use one at a time(tho I bet there are some psych...er, Gents who try the old one in each hand trick around here), the blade/razor thing is a nonstarter. Creams/Soaps is another deal altogether. Usually I'm thinking about what one I'll be using the next day right after today's shave.

Razors! Without a doubt, razors!

Between all of my DEs, SEs, injectors and SRs, it's always a tough decision.

 

Soap for me. I only have two brushes at the moment, so I alternate them. If I have time, I use my straight, otherwise just grab whatever calls me, and the aftershave is mostly determined by the soap I use.

 

Toss-up between razor and soap. A/S falls into line once a soap is picked.

 

Really, none of the above. Whatever strikes my fancy.

 

Razor/blade combination for me.

 

Most of my AD's have diminished greatly. I regularly use one preshave, one soap, two 3 piece DE razors, two blades, one aftershave balm. The only choice I have to make is which aftershave I want to use.

 

I don't decide till the day I use them and then until I actually go shave. And I still spend time on all the products, so I agree with @Primotenore and @Boojum1, for me, all of them.

 

I didn't vote. Under "normal" circumstances I'd be Focusing on a particular razor. Instead I'm working my way through 30+ soap samples. Type of soap usually dictates brush type but I'm face lathering instead of using a bowl. Matching aftershaves is right out.

I only have stuff that I really enjoy using so it doesn't take a lot of time to decide which one, using any of them will do.

 

I pick out which razors I'm going to use a month at a time and my soaps and brushes are in a set rotation so I think aftershave is the one that I toil over most, especially now that I've been getting a few more options.

 

I don't stress, labor or debate, rather just pick up something and shave.
