After shaving in a hurry today, I grabbed what was out for my post-shave: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel and Stirling Sandalwood Balm. After putting them both on, I smelled my hands and was totally mesmerized by the scent. Stirling's Sandalwood is very woodsy, a little spicey and not sweet, and it paired very nicely with the light rose. So now I'm looking for a scent that may fall along those lines. A woodsy rose scent, if you will, with the faintest hint of spicey depth. My wife really liked the combo on me. Suggestions? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Ask one of the artisan soap makers to make one and I'll buy it. That sounds fantastic Sent from my SM-S975L using Tapatalk

From Chatillon Lux: June 29 Lastly, we will be putting out something new: Rose Santal. This scent will feature a rose accord that I've made that was meant to smell rich yet sharp, and will be complemented by a slightly modified Santal Auster sandalwood accord, along with some other spicy notes that I'm not announcing yet...because I'm still tinkering with them. Soap at LandLGrooming.com, aftershave/toner/salve at ChatillonLux.com
CRSW's Bois Floreaux may catch your fancy, but I'm not sure if it's still available. Less woody, but currently available, is The Shaving Shop's Barbershop Poivre Rosé. Finally, Mike's Rose & Cedar should do the trick.
Check out Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose Concerto. It has a nice woodsy rose scent. I have some of the AS, and I think it is terrific.
Mystic Water's Sandalwood Rose has a marvelous scent plus it is a very good shave soap. The sent is amazing - her mix of the Sandalwood and Rose scents is right on the mark.
Is it a sweet Sandalwood or more of a dry Sandalwood akin to the Stirling? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
http://mamabearssoaps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_12&products_id=176 Mama Bears does a Sandalwood Rose. I've not tried it but my buddy loves it. Gotta admit, it does sound good.
Thanks for the input. I'm looking for something more on the dry, natural side. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Directly from his text "It is same scent as TOBS sandalwood with a top note of rose. I like it, but I also grew to really like the TOBS sandalwood scent. It is not like the woodsy Sirling aftershave scent (which I also really love!)" Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Whose text was this? I like and own TOBS sandalwood but it is not the fragrance I am looking for here. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
