Your Pipe of The Day.

Saturday mid day pipe, getting ready for a tropical storm to arrive tomorrow in central Alabama. McClelland Blackwoods Flake in a Skip Elliott custom hand made pipe.

 

Just visited the site, nice prices also. I actually smoke cigars, medium to full strength, that's why I should do ok with medium strength pipe tobacco. Also checking out what tobacco they have. There are a couple tobacco shops, but don't think they sell pipes, unless I get the glass ones, he he. Maybe just the tobacco.

Here is a nice article written after the Briary's 2015 Annual Pipe Event. I had a nice discussion with the writer of this article at the event, but can't recall his name now. Skip is in one of the pictures, he has the red beard. Peder Jeppenson of Neerup Pipes is on the right. Peder also makes most if not all of the Eric Stokkebye 4th Generation pipes. Eric Stokkebye is in the bottom picture.

I was in an antiques shop today and thought of you guys. It almost made me want to start smoking again

 

That's the best part about smoking. It's never too late to start.

 

You know @mrchick you should have bought all those and sent them to me! There can be some real bargains in estate pipes, just like razors.

@Bama Samurai - Nope, just been putting one foot in front of the other. Finally got a break in the summer heat so I've been getting some work done. Haven't been taking PotD photos. Enjoying my favorite OTC Carter Hall in a Chacom, and fussing about what I assume is PG slathered all over some Lane Q-1 in my Peterson. I like the Lane flavor, but it produces vast quantities of wetness.

Hate to tell you though... You can spend tons fast buying pipes....

That would be PG, and no amount of drying time will get it out. That's why I got totally away from aromatics years ago, but will now smoke a tinned semi-aromatic. They tend not to be so heavy on the PG.

 

Fresh shipment arrived today. Cleaned up the Chacom and loaded Peter Stokkebye's Toasted Burley. Traveling to my jobsite to get some wood work done before dark.
