I like the clean lines on the pipe. So many of those are over decorated. Tell me about the baccy? How strong is the licorice?
I don't notice the licorice when smoking, it's a lot more floral. This is one of those blends people either seem to love or hate. I've only had a single pouch, but liked it enough to order a pound in bulk when SP had a 20% off sale on Sutliff bulk. It will be an occasional change of pace smoke for me.
Sometimes it's a hard choice! I have a few that are "usual suspects" and I try to rotate a few of the others in to keep it interesting to me. The "Pipe Of The Day" thread has been an inspiration for me to smoke and post pipes I might not gotten to otherwise.
Capt Earl's Stimulus Package in a Ser Jacapo. I bought this pipe at the NY pipe show around 1999 and it's been a favorite because of the really comfortable wide thin stem.
Here's some pipes I bought on a whim a month back. I think I bought 7 pipes for $20.50, trashed 4 and kept these 3. There's an unsmoked MasterCraft bark-lined, an apparently only smoked once meerschaum lined Grabow with a stinger, and an unsmoked Medico Guardsman. The Medico has a little cage over the draft hole at the bottom of the bowl and there's a tiny hole in the bottom of the pipe. I was going to smoke one today, but it's a bit too windy today. I'll probably have a cigar later instead.
I received my Gardesana H.I.S. pipe today along with a tin of OGS and Czech tool from @Bama Samurai. I am going to see which method of packing the pipe suits me, breaking up the tobacco or folding it.
I liked it as did my GF. In a way I'm lucky, she doesn't mind it when I smoke a cigar inside, so the pipe will be ok. She likes the smell of good tobacco.
