For today's shave, I used the same equipment as yesterday. The cheeks and neck went fine. I still left some stubble on my neck, but no big deal. The chin at the jawline I just can't figure out. Can anyone recommend a good video that shows the use of a straight razor on the chin?

It seems to work for me as well, I always get a really nice shaving edge using this method. After the SG20K I use 0.5 micron diamond spray on felt followed by 0.25 micron CrOx on linen, so a little different method for putting the final touches than what you use, but I bet our edges feel very similar. Very, very nice.

    today I used:
Jonathan Crookes 5/8 full hollow smiling spike
    20160222_091130.jpg
I'm not sure if the picture shows how the blade is curved( the spine and edge).
a modified honing stroke proved to be just the ticket. it honed up very nicely.
three passes left me with a shave I'm very happy with. but a friend had given me a ss over the weekend. so I checked my straight shave with the new razor. I was hard pressed to find much to cut.
anyone with info on Jonathan Crookes? the pistol and heart look quite old. comfy shoulder on this one.

Craftsman Shave today. Used my 5/8 round tip Craftsman razor, and a Craftsman strop I found at an antique mall this weekend. DFS with very little irritation. Strop worked well. Both sides are shell leather, and seems hardly used.

Mike, I very much like the natural grain of those scales. Do you know what wood they were formed from?

Yup, they're made from Olive wood. From a downed tree branch in Mastro Livi's back yard ;)
