Did not shave yesterday so tried the Personna blade with two day's growth. I do believe it was smoother than yesterday but still not as smooth as the Chinese Schicks. I am not sure it is actually as sharp as the Chicks either but it is certainly close. Ended with a DFS+ shave and no irritation today. I am still on the fence about these blades. They give a good shave, not great. The Chicks are definitely better so far. Will give them another try tomorrow and then switch over to my J type.

I was lucky enough to find the GSB blade early on. It is a tremendous performer for me as well. It and the Bolzano blade are my clear top two, basically 1A and 1B, and since the GSB is cheaper and easier to get, well it is 1A for me!

Glad you are liking the GSB!

Another great photo. :happy088: How many shaves are you getting out of the GEM blades in the One Blade?

Last Mongoose shave of the month. I'm at the airport waiting to board a flight and have an Injector packed for the trip. The Mongoose turned out to be a very nice razor. It does have a steep learning curve and I tried three different blades before settling on the Feather Pro Super. This razor is a keeper.

Thank you my friend. I changed the last GEM SS out after 8 shaves only because I wanted to try one of the GEM SS Coated blades.

Craftsman Shave today. Used my 5/8 round tip Craftsman razor, and a Craftsman strop I found at an antique mall this weekend. DFS with very little irritation. Strop worked well. Both sides are shell leather, and seems hardly used. Seville soap and American blend aftershave, and a good shave was had. Happy Monday, all!

Thanks! It's kind of neat to have two shaving Craftsman pieces.
Your outdoor shots are awesome. You are making me want to break out my red tip again.

    Focus: NF Brush #11 - Feb 22
New Forest in Tigris Perla (2)

NF brush #11 up to bat this morning. It's the second Tigris Perla handle one that I have - in better condition than the other one.

Also another brush that I'm using for the first time.
Love the look and the handle but the knot for some odd reason felt 'too bulbesque' for facelathering.

    I'd rate this a good 7.5/10.

I also used an old, no-name ornate cartridge razor that provided a rather rough shave but in the end I was clean shaven w/ no blood lost.

Menthol Monday. Shaved this morning, but no chance to post before now. In addition to the C.O. Bigelow cream, I'm trying a new blade. I was at the local Walgreens last night to pick up some Gem SE blades and saw that they also had a 9 blade package of Gillette Platinum Plus blades. I bought them in part to encourage the store to stock more name brand DE blades and also to see how they were. These blades are from Proctor and Gamble and manufactured in Brazil.

I have to say I was very pleased with the smoothness and sharpness of the Gillette Platinum Plus. 2 passes and an average amount of touch up brought home the baby. And as an added bonus, the Clubman was mild.

A nice comfortable BBS from the Gillette Platinum Plus in the Old Type. I’m going to stick with it over the next couple of days and see if it continues to please.

Hope everyone had a nice Monday.

Today's razor is my Dovo Master's, it was refreshed with a J Nat followed by Dovo Red/Black paste, second shave.

The edge felt smooth, but no different from the Dovo finished with the Shaptons. The only difference I could detect was that it does not feel as sharp as the edge from the Shapton finished Dovo. Four passes and no blood. I thought I nailed the BBS but no cigar, just missed it.
