Thanks. Nicely organized den. I guess you have a thing for boxers and bulldogs. Is that pre-shave oil in the smaller bottles. Is it a good performer.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20160225_110112(0).jpg

    Prep: Musgo Real classic
    Razor: 1953 Gillette Tech
    Blade: Timor (1st shave)
    Brush: Ever ready 600
    Soap: Tiki- Into The Forest
    Aftershave: Barbasol Brisk
    Balm: Myrsol Emulsion

3 pass shave this morning. 1st time trying the Timor blades and it went well. They feel pretty smooth and I finished the shave BBS and without any nicks. So far so good. The Tiki whipped up a mountain of lather with just a few swirls of the brush. Finished off with Emulsion and Brisk. Hope everyone has a great shave!

Thanks. Yes it`s basically the same as the original except the scents are different and they perform well for me. I will experiment with some others, if only to compare. I wouldn`t think of shaving without an oil base. I expect to add a couple more razor that I have been interested in, but at my age, it might be a little over the top. I love the one I bought from Jason and, unless I find something "super duper " good. It will be my mainstay. Happy shaving.

Yes, Sir. It is slightly more aggressive than the J1. I rarely use it because I keep cutting myself around the mouth area, but it works great on my bald spot. When I bought it, there were 5 original T74 blades. Averaged 23 shaves with each one. Really got my money`s worth.

Special Shave for tomorrow as I let my Daughter pick out what she liked best look/scent wise for me to use tomorrow. Helped me decide what to use and seeing as she's always trying to grab stuff out of my den/ see what I have it was a win/win for both of us. She has gotten better knowing not to touch my stuff after last weeks incident where I caught her pouring fruit loops into my Georgetown scuttle.... :angry032::angry032::angry032:

I think she made some good choices. :)

PSA-I will list what I am using and also her reasoning on why she chose it. If the babble of a 4 year old is not your cup of tea I apologize.

Merkur Futur cranked to 4/Lab Blue (1) - "Use the Shiny one!!!!" (It's Satin finish so I don't know where she gets the shiny from...) She chose the Lab Blue as blue is her favorite color.

Stirling Synthetic 26mm- She chose it because "It's fluffy like a bunny".

Catie's Bubbles LTV- "It smells awesome!!!" Short sweet and too the point.

The Veg- "It's green and looks like a potion!!!" Fair enough.

So this will be my setup for tomorrow.

Not pictured is a little green plastic bowl my daughter gave me today as she overheard me talking to SWMBO about how I am planning on buying another scuttle or shaving bowl.

Also choose setting 4 for the Futur as my daughter is 4 years old and she helped plan everything.

Thank you. The Schick Krona is one of my favorite razors and I really like the looks of the gold one as well. I started off with a user grade chrome (which I still have) and eventually got a couple of spares just in case something happened to my first one. They quit making them, you know...

I have a black tip with Schick and Krona stamped in the butterflies. Ill have to keep a look out for a gold one.

Have you tried a preshave oil? I recently purchased Shave Secret from Walmart for less than $4.00. Three drops rubbed on after the hot towel treatment, prior to lathering up. Seems to add a bit of lubrication to whatever soap or creme I use.

I wanted one stamped with Shick and Krona for the longest time and it's my most recent acquisition, but I have to say the quality is less than the ones that aren't stamped. It shaves alright but it's definitely flimsier.
