The Mongoose has given me BBS three days in a row, although I had some intense irritation from 3 passes on a fresh blade the first day.....but man was it smooth.

    Bunny shave report number three:
I was going to shave this morning but it's an early and busy day and I had 32 hours of beard ready. So, why not just shave before I went to bed? Plus, I can probably squeeze in one more shave this way before sending the Bunny on her way to @Redfisher next week. :D

Here's the highlights: I moved up to the Notso comb and kept the Personna II blade. This was my best shave yet with the Bunny. I paid more attention to keeping the handle and head to be consistently perpendicular throughout the shave. I also worked to keep my grip lower on the handle where the thinnest part of the grip is. I usually grip pretty high on my razors so this required some effort on my part. No question that keeping that closer-to-perpendicular angle has a big impact on shave quality. As to the lower grip, perhaps, but I think I'll go back to using whatever feels right at the time.

The reduction after the first pass was remarkable and you can imagine that the second pass would have been more than good enough with some wet touch ups but I went for broke with a third pass - no surprise. Everything went swimmingly with the exception of the upper lip. For some reason, the ATG pass on my upper lip has been a challenge with each shave. The blade was tugging here and I had to take very short strokes. My best guess is the angle was probably too steep and I'm not judging it properly when holding the razor upside down. I'm going to make that my focus and experiment with technique in this area in my upcoming shave on Friday. :happy088:

Bottom line: Best shave yet and a shave that is every bit as close and smooth as I get on a good day with my PAL Injecto Matic. :happy036:

I started using the Golden injector on Tuesday. It was an interesting experience. I put in a blade and began my first pass. I just about cursed out loud. It was so rough and uncomfortable it was amazing. I immediately looked to the head to make sure nothing was bent or causing a problem. The blade was properly aligned and did not seem to have any issues from the way it looked. So I tried a second swipe down the cheek with it and this time I did curse out loud. It was not just rough but scraping almost. After another examination, I decided either I got a very bad razor or a very bad blade. I wanted the razor to be for more than display so I put in another blade hoping it would fix my issues. Thankfully, it was a great shave from that point forward! The first blade was a clear dud!

Both Tuesday's and today's shaves ended in the DFS+ near BBS range. Today though was a little more difficult. I have a thick coarse beard and today I had two day's growth. This mild razor had some issues with getting through it. I had to do three full passes as well as touch up instead of my usual 2 passes and touch up. It got me to near BBS, but I don't think this mild shaver is really going to cut it when I have two day's growth. As a daily shaver, it will be great. But when I skip a day or, forgive me, two, then I will definitely be looking elsewhere for a razor to use.

    Three Pass Shaving Routine...

Hot Water prep & massage with Argan Oil
    OneBlade Razor
    Feather SE Blade New
    Hans Baier Silver Tip Badger
    Haslinger Tallow soap
    Thayers Original Witch Hazel

I had my 2nd shave with the OneBlade Razor tonight with a New Feather blade..As far as I am concerned these blades are good for one good shave & that's it..I can actually feel them getting blunter towards the end of a shave..I wanted to keep an open mind here & give the OneBlade Razor the benefit of the Doubt..As they say in Scotland.."Gee the Wee Boy another Chance for Hells Sake"..I had a different Mind Set this Time because I had a better Idea of what the OneBlade is all about..I shaved with Cartridge Systems for most of my Life & Yes I have always been a Wet Shaver..There is nothing wrong with Cartridge Razors..I aint No Razor Snob that's for Sure..;)

During my 1st WTG & 2nd XTG Pass I was kinda thinking that I may have been a tad hard on the OneBlade Razor..I was using it with the Cartridge Razor Mind Set..As far as I am concerned the OneBlade is essentially a Stainless Heavy Weight Cardridge Razor Design albeit with a Single Edge Blade..I had two days of whiskers to cut down & after my 1st & 2nd Rinse between passes I wasn't that impressed with the reduction compared to what I remember getting with a Modern Cart Even..:D

During my 3rd ATG Pass the OneBlade was starting to annoy me because it was starting to Skate about my face because it was getting smoother..There is just far too much Smooth Surface stainless Steel on your face with this razor for me..If you look at the above photo you can see it has a huge smooth comb surface area..In addition to that it has quite a Large Smooth Face that goes upwards at quite a steep angle..I looked at this design & it became immediately clear to me that at least in part this is to clear those quite protruding hook type blade stops that would otherwise offer your Coupon a Very Nasty Time Indeed..I have other SE Razors like the Gem OCMM & Clog Pruf that have a large surface area on the skin but not at the OneBlades Steep Angle of Attack & they work on a different principle of No Pressure any roads & far more Aggressive & Efficient to Boot..The OCMM was introduced on 1929/1930 by the Way..:p

I decided to pull out that Gillette Mach 3 you see in the top photo that I had laying around for a couple of years..I finished off my 3rd ATG the Pass with this Deposable Piece of Plastic & ended up with a Lovely All Over Dolphin Smooth BBS Result..Not only that..The Gillette didn't clunk, didn't skate & it was far more Efficient, Manoeuvrable & More Comfortable in the Hand than the OneBlade & I mean by a Longshot..Dont get me wrong these Mach 3 Types are not my Cup of Tea but for bye the fact that its made of cheap plastic is sure Tasted a Darn Site Sweeter to use than the OneBlade..;)

This leads me back to my last shave..The design of the Oneblade feels very Primitive & Arcane..I find it quite an Awkward & Uncomfortable Razor to Use..The Paradox here of course is that the OneBlade in my humble opinion is an Over Complicated Design but at the same time feels very Primitive & Arcane..To sum up then the OneBlade in My Eyes is an Over Complicated Design..Some people might like that of course but for me personally the Simplest is the Highest..:)

Thank you @@Nico1970 for giving me the Opportunity to shave with your OneBlade Razor because I wouldn't otherwise have had the chance to shave with one.. I will Pass it on to the next person on the list either Tomorrow or Saturday..:angelic007:

My first injector arrived yesterday, an amber-handled G6. (I really dig that handle.) I think the squarish neck makes it an earlier model, so I'm guessing late 40's. It's super clean and seems to be in great shape. Last night I thought I saw a slight misalignment in the head, but this morning it looked different. Maybe it was tired eyes. I also believe the box is correct, but let me know if I'm wrong.
    IMG_20160225_205840300.jpg
It has a blade loaded and came with a couple of strays in the box (yikes!:scared001:) so loading a new blade should be a snap. I'm hoping my Chinese Schicks will be here this weekend.

I do have one issue: The handle is slightly twisted counterclockwise from center. Is that normal or a sign of something else? I made a weak attempt to twist the handle, just to check tightness, and it seems firmly attached. I clearly want to straighten it, but should I try it or leave it alone?

I got it for under $10, shipping included, so I'm happy. Now to get those Chicks and get some shaves in before the Bunny gets here!

Congratulations! I love that amber handle and the head looks to be in really nice shape as well. :happy088: Personally, I'd leave the handle alone. As long as the spring is tight (doesn't rattle when you shake it with a blade loaded) all should be well.

Yup, another great shave with the Bunny. :happy036:

I had about 37 hours (but who's counting) of beard ready to work with and the Wild comb didn't feel particularly aggressive or rough. In fact, the first pass reduction was really good but not appreciably different from what I remembered with the other combs. However, once again, by the end of the second pass, there wasn't much left. Of course, I went for the third pass (vs. touch-ups) anyhow. But this time I did something different. I decided to try switching out the comb and stepped things down to the Mild comb.

I'm glad I did this for a couple of reasons. First, it was all that was needed to work with what was left and it kept me from over-doing it. I ended up with a fantastically close and smooth shave with no drama. Second, I got to see how easy or challenging it is to switch combs mid-shave. It turns out it is very easy and quick. The knurled screw works great for getting traction with a wet thumb and fingers. :happy088:

My headline observation again is that keeping the handle angle is the key to getting the best shave from the Bunny. One thing I noticed is that audible feedback is available with the optimal angle but you are probably getting beyond it if the feedback is too much.

My Schick blades arrived yesterday so I plan to squeeze in three more shaves using each of the combs with the Schick blade combo. And that is the kicker, these great shaves I've been getting haven't even been with the Schick blade - which @Billyfergie found to be an optimal combo. I can only imagine the face-rubbing goodness I have to look forward to. :D

Just got my first injector in today. But the spring is a little loose. Any tips on fixing this?

Awesome. No rattling that I noticed. What I thought I saw was the top plate was sitting unevenly atop the blade, with one end high. Will report back after the shave!

Unfortunately there is no reliable way to do this. :(

One thing you can try is to take a padded needlenose pliers and grip the spring, low, near the rivet. Then twist hard towards the head in an attempt to increase the pressure the spring puts on the head. This can help and if the spring is only a little loose may solve the problem. Good luck - let us know how it works.

If you bought it on eBay your other option is to put in a claim for a refund due to it being defective. I've had good experiences the few times I have gotten a razor that was mechanically defective.

I think I'll just try to fix it. I've purchased a couple of great razors from the same seller and don't feel like going through the hassle
