The rocks are fossilized mollusks that are just offshore. When the tide goes out the entire area is a graveyard of shell fossils.
Had a great two pass shave with the Blackbird/Feather combo, Dr. Jon's Classic whipped up with the Alluminati, soothed by the Gentlemen's Refinery AS. I have a pretty limited palette while I'm traveling, but I hope the setting makes up for the redundancy.

February Focus - German blades DONE! Best of the Best to the Finish!

    February 27

Razor - '47 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Soap - Arko stick
Post - Cold rinse, Alum, Nivea, The Veg

Off we go to the best Japanese blade. Well, I love the Kai too, but a Feather in a mild razor is a marvelous thing. So, the '47 Gillette Super Speed matches perfectly to the blade for a couple of days in Tokyo, or thereabouts. Arko and the Wolf for a fantastically easy and thick, cushy lather and away we go. As always, this blade when paired right is an absolute delight. Smooth, some nice audio feedback, and what a nice result after each pass. Two passes, WTG then ATG with a bit of G Slide and the baby is on board for the day. Hard to get a better result than that. Now, if only Japan was a bit more sane life there would be perfect!

    Feather Hi-Stainless blade (1st)
Lucky Tiger AS & Face Tonic

Still working the idea of a Super Lather, but this ain't it. Either product is acceptable by itself, but the combo seemed less that the components. Can't blame a less than satisfactory shave on just the lather as I took a new to me $1.99 Ebay razor for its first ride. I'm no stranger to a 3-piece, but this is my first open comb. A well used Fat Handled Tech supplied the grip. The other two pieces are still a mystery to me. Stamped under the base plate, "BOSTOM" in a Gillette like diamond, and "N.R.K.". A new Feather blade fit OK, left a good deal of blade exposure, and centered well. Very efficent reduction, but couldn't get this non-Gillette to slide on my XTG under jawline pass. Left me smooth, slightly irritated, but happy. For two bucks, I'm a Lucky Tiger!

Steampunk?!? I like the looks of the razor and a great picture. I have a fondness for steampunk. Do you have a close-up shot of the razor. I'm intrigued.

I believe I purchased the very first one he offered up. Remember he had stated he wasn't fond of it when he first came up with the color scheme but caught my eye as no other out there looked like this one so had to have it. Now he states steampunk finish is the top seller at Delta Echo.
