    Single Edge Sunday
Burham (1909 Patent) / Gem SS PTFE (5)
    Arko Stick
    Vie-Long 4312 Horsehair
Every Man Jack Mint Face Lotion
Old Spice Modern AS and Cologne
Yesterday's shave with the Schick N2 and a Chick blade on the 5th use was less than stellar, not at all what I am used to using any setup, much less a Schick. Today i sued the smallest lightest razor in my modest collection, the 1909 Burham. This is the 5th time I have used this little single edge and each time I have not been dissapointed with the quality of my shave. Today was no different, Dolphin smooth BBS, as good as it gets (AGAIG). This is a very simplistic design, a one piece razor where the blade just slides up under the spring and that's it. The one knock on this razor is the extremely thin handle and it's light weight. You have to make sure that you keep your hands dry or the handle can be slippery and hard to grip. This little known jewel is one of my most prized pieces I have, and it comes in the cardboard box with the instructions and original blade. The Arko stick was face lathered with my first Vie-Long horsehair brush, the 4312 which is very long and floppy but lathers like a beast. Post shave face feel is smooth and soft and the Old Spice left me smelling great. A shave that is TWGW approved.

    Today's shave
    E4 injector
    Vie Long Horse Hair brush
Had an excellent shave today. No cuts, alum was silent. Ended with a close comfortable shave. Now I'm off to CSU Pueblo for a fun friendly rugby scrimmage. Good day everyone!

I tried some new things out with the Bunny today and got my best shave ever with her. Here's a link to the thread with full details. Scroll to Shave report number 5 for the latest. :happy005:

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Chinese Schick
Razor: Schick G1 Injector (late 1940s)
    Brush: Escali badger
    Lather: TSD Lanolin Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Bay Rum after shave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

This was my fourth shave with this razor. I had a little trouble yesterday getting some of the areas on my neck. Today was no trouble. I think now that yesterday's issues were related to sub-par lather and continued learning curve with the razor. Today's TSD lather was fantastic and I felt I had more familiarity and control of the razor. It's a cool razor! The Chinese Schick blade is pretty sharp as well. I had one nick and one weeper yesterday but today was accident free. All in all a great shave!

I'm trying to build my SE technique in anticipation of the Bunny coming to me in a couple of months. I'm down the list on the East Coast pass-around.

The VC4 was my choice today, I can't seem to quit this razor even though the feather blade sucks for lack of a better word. Second shave on this blade was a tugging scraping feel but the results after 3 passes were pretty good. Smooth is not a word that I would use here to describe the way it feels to shave with this blade. Anyway Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    Nice score.

I was wondering. Is that an early E2 as it has MADE IN USA on the front? I do not see very many with it there

    Tom,
How would you compare the Bunny to the PAL injectomatic?

I am a bit biased. I would say it is as efficient as the PAL. Both using the Chick blades.

    Paging @Billyfergie
I can't find any sources with this kind of detail on Schicks. Billy needs to write that book. I'll be the first to order a copy.

If you get a chance, take a look at my Shave report number 5 in the US East Coast Bunny Pass Around thread. I make a brief comparison of the Bunny to the PAL Injecto Matic as well as the Schick type H.

    Rapide Razor
Rapide wedge blade (2nd shave since honing)
    Fine Angel Hair synthetic brush
    Tabac everything

On Sundays when I have extra time I like to use a wedge blade razor since it requires a little extra effort as far as cleaning and stropping the blade. It seemed logical to use this German-made razor with Tabac products.

The Rapide blade seems to be made of excellent steel, as my admittedly less than expert honing skills still have produced a wicked edge. I've been using a Mongoose w/Feather AC Pro for the last few days. Today's shave was every bit as close as the 'Goose, yet smoother and with less irritation - outstanding!

Although my purple Pal injectomatic is the nicest looking of the three I own, it is my least favorite to shave with. Its just too aggresive for me. One pass WTG and I was feeling irritated enough to stop and switch razors. I finished off the last two passes with my type D. I ended up with a really close shave but the alum block and aftershave told me I had been roughed up.

    Menthol Monday!

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Chinese Schick
Razor: Schick G1 Injector (late 1940s)
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso Green shaving soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD SubZero after shave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Boy these blades are sharp! I hit some type of bump under my nose and ended up with the worst nick I've had in a long time. Oh well. The injector can certainly provide a close shave. My technique isn't great with it yet, but I'll get it there.

    Have a great day!
