Hello, greetings and Happy March! Yesterday I received this antique straight as a PIF gift from @Drygulch. Adam has been central to my success with straights, and am very excited to try this razor later today. I will post about it later...but for now, thanks again Adam for the super gift!
Thanks. First shave this morning was great as expected. I used a Red Personna same as in my Red Tip. I'd say very slightly more agressive that my Red Tip. It's going in my rotation.
That's a beauty preidy. You're going to love that razor! Let us know what you think of it. How long did you wait in the garage for it?
I have two of the 40's style rockets and I love when they come up in the rotation. Definitely efficient razors!
I got this NOS Rolls Viscount Model Today..I haven't even cleaned this yet..I just wiped the thing with my elbow..This is how it came straight from the box..Is a thing of Beauty..The Viscount Model has an Aluminium Case unlike the Earlier Models & is a bit Lighter..Looks as if it just came off the Production Line Yesterday..I cant believe I got this for 7 Quid & Local Postage..Its Found a Man that Appreciates it.. Billy..
You got a nice variation there =) the gillette silver blue almost became my GO2 blade, but I found them to not be very consistent. But that my opinion. The astra SP was my first bulk buy and the 7 o clock performed pretty damn good too
Guys I went into WallyWorld just now for some nutritional supplements and finally pulled the trigger on Cremo Cooling Cream...I believe @gorgo2 uses it and @RyX with good results. If I'm wrong, forgive me for tagging you. I will try it tomorrow and post up on the SOTD. Edit: Tried a couple of test lathers with it...it's horribly unstable and dissipates by the time I put my brush down. Very sad..it's very cooling and has a nice mint scent. It will be relegated to my uber lather pile.
