Once you start shaving your head you won't go back. I love being bald. It's hot ;)

My girls told me I smelled like the mall, which means good. I used Fine L'Orange Noir. My wife said its the only aftershave I should use.

Round 2 for my Merkur Vision. Last shave was pretty good but I can felt the frustration I get from mild razors. It is hard to always maintain the angle when there is such a small margin.

My usual 4 pass shave and no blood and no issues. I had the razor wide open still some times I struggle to find the most aggressive angle.

No blood and the alum gave only a little feedback, just missed BBS.

    Irritation A Closeness A- Smoothness A+ Keenness B

I am really tempted to keep this cool looking beast in the razor stable but in the end it will not get used often, with my move to straights the DEs only get used a couple times a week at best. Also it can't compete with my aggressive DEs and I greatly prefer the aggressiveness of the Futur. So she will be put up for sale so she can go to home where she will be loved and used.

    To Date:
    Definitely staying:
Genco Easy Aces SR, hard to let go of cool looking, great shaving piece of vintage American steel just because it is smaller than I like. It is also my only vintage American SR.

    Leaning toward staying:

    Leaning toward releasing:
Jerry Stark 5/8 SR. Looks great, shaves great just to small a blade. I would prefer to sell this and trade up for a larger blade

    Will be released:
Sight unseen Whipped Dog SR. This shaves great but I want to PIF it to someone who wants to get started with SR.
Merkur Vision - despite major coolness she can't compete with aggressive Futur.

It is hard to go back to a light blade after using a heavy one. It adds to the whole bad assness of SR shaving plus it makes using the correct pressure easier.

    Congrats!

I did like the feel. But I have love for all three! It did seem to resist skipping more than the WD. The Aust is so sharp and thin, it really shines on the neck for me. You did say this rabbit hole is deep, no?

Yes, very deep. Then there are strops, hones and pastes.

    You can customised everything.

    Straights Focus March 3:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    L'Occitane Cade SC
Henry Sears and Son Queen 3/4
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Aqua Velva AS

This shave just really seemed to come together. I got a great lather with the Cade (as chosen by my son last night) to get it started. Then, the razor just seemed to move on its own and smoothly wiped away that wonderful lather, taking the whiskers away with it. I did one pass, and I was easily at a CCS verging on DFS. I left it there, and finished with some Aqua Velva (also chosen by my son last night). I am definitely ready for my day. Have a great Thursday.

Great shave this morning. I am really enjoying my MWF...it is a lather monster...five swirls and my brush is loaded. And of course today you learn of another love of my life...comic books. A throwback to lazy days when we were kids. I am a bit of a collector.

This morning's shave was an automatic near BBS 2 pass shave with minor touch ups. Finished up with a splash of Fine Platinum and I am ready the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

    March focus shave 3

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Personna lab blue (3)
Razor: Maggard MR1 handle with V2 open comb
    Brush: Trader Joe's synthetic
    Lather: Proraso White shaving soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice, efficient CCS this morning with one pass and touch-up. The Proraso White soap has been a great performer the past three days. I've gotten tons of lather and have a nice, rich, and protective coating on my face after face lathering. I've dialed in a little more with the Trader Joe's brush and figured out I needed to bear down more when face lathering. It also needs more water when loading. Those two changes have made that brush a nice addition to my gear.

I hope you all have a great Thursday!

Thanks Chris. I have been doing some skin stretching, but primarily on my touch ups. I do a full lather before each of my passes. I've tried head tilts and mouth contortions, but maybe I need to try a bit more stretching. Perhaps that will make my first and second pass more efficient.

Another nice BBS from the Rapira Super Stainless in my Birth Quarter Tech. My typical 2 passes with cold water rinse and touch up. I ended up doing a little more touch up in my trouble spots today than yesterday. The cold water really makes the whiskers stand up and I just needed to go over them a couple of times to get rid of them. The Clubman stung a bit more today but not too bad.

BBS: three for three with the Rapira Super Stainless. A good amount of pressure needed on touch up and the Clubman mild 2 out of 3 times. That will be hard to beat. Tomorrow I move on to a new blade: the Gillette Platinum Plus.

I hope everyone has a nice Thursday.
