Love the La Toja shave stick!! La Toja. Does the face good. ;)
If I could tell a Newbie (me) what one razor is a must buy, it's the Gillette Aristocrat. I really think had I bought this razor early on I wouldn't have wasted my money on so many other razors. Wishful thinking?! Floid Black is back from the overflow box..

It really is quite easy. My scalp could take way more abuse then my face. I was able to use derby and dorco blades and get a BBS in 3 passes. Those blades rip up my face. Its worth a trial run as long as you can keep Neil @NCoxSTL out of your head when you're using the straights.

This is what I keep trying to explain to folks about Straight razor shaving. If you can shave successfully with a DE, you can shave with a pain stick or straight razor.

I like heavy blades. They cut with no effort, like a windshield wiper but the whiskers go away too. I shaved today with a light blade, a full hollow 5/8 of American Steel. I really liked how nimble and easy to maneuver it was around my facial hair. That wasn't as easy yesterday with the 6/8 blade. I have reached the conclusion that when it comes to Straight Razor blade types, grinds, and weights, I want one of each in my collection.

I don't stretch on my first pass, which is N/S and mostly WTG. I do stretch on the XTG and ATG passes, especially on my chin. Touch your alum block to give your fingertips some grip on soapy skin. It was a game changer for me and the quality of my shaves.

Still getting great shaves with the E-2. Th only Injector blades I have used have been the Chick blades and I can't come up with a reason to try others. I'm getting very smooth with two passes.

Day 3 of my 30 day rule.

Finally found the sweet spot lather wise for Catie's Bubbles with the Synthetic. No issues making the lather at all. Cranked the Fatboy to 7 and got an effortless BBS even on the neck (miracles do happen!!!) so I really cant complain at all about the shave today however I am beginning to think I should have done a strict focus and only change soaps as I becoming bored of the same soap the past 3 days...I applaud those who can make it 30 days with the same setup but in all honesty I will be amazed if I make it the whole 30 days without reaching for a new soap soon. Don't get me wrong its a great soap with an amazing scent but I am getting burnt out by it.

I normally don’t shave every day. However, I just got three new razors in, and I wanted to have a birthday shave with a custom razor. I used another razor done by Mathis Restorations. This one had awesome celluloid art deco style embossed scales, but when it was disassembled, it had Cell Rot by the pivot, so custom scales were made. The curve of the scales, and the light weight of the razor made this a very nimble razor that handled well. Since I shaved yesterday, I didn’t do my WTG pass, and did an XTG and ATG. Didn’t do any touch up, and have a DFS. I have some irritation in my trouble spots, but I will blame that on shaving two days in a row. The razor was honed on a Suehiro 20k stone. I don’t think I used an edge off that stone before. Very keen, but not as smooth as the JNat edge yesterday. I am finally getting a good lather with the Sterling. I think the boar brush helps. Overall, good day. Planning on using another newly cleaned up razor on Friday.

I'm the complete opposite, my scalp is so much more sensitive than my face. Even after shaving my head for almost 2 years now.
Something else to be taken into consideration is age, my skin is getting thinner and has become more sensitive.
