Oh how I wish I had my grandfather's razors...I will eventually own both of theirs, and my father's, birth year razors. It's as close as I can get now.

 

I missed out on my granddads razors.
I've got what he used. That's about as close as I can get.

Two new items will be put to the test in tomorrow morning shave, the ONEBLADE and BS Beehive Manchurian brush. Mightily impressed with the ONEBLADE razor. Feels wonderful in the hands, smooth pivoting head and I like the balance and weight of this razor. The picture of the Beehive did not do it justice. Lot better looking in person with it's Faux Ivory handle and sliver of Faux Horn in the middle. Hopefully next time use this brush I will take a better picture. The tips already fill silky soft and there is some backbone but slightly less than so than my other Manchurians. This one maybe the softest one yet.

The Kai Mild is doing great for five days now. No noticeable difference in sharpness or feel. So far it seems the only problems I've had with it were more my mistakes than anything that can be blamed on the blade. If it has a weakness that I can detect to this point it is the impression I have from previous shaves with the Feather Pro that the Kai Mild is not as effective due to being less sharp. It's an impression that I will get to compare in the next few weeks against all three of the "sharper" blades that are in store for it. It would makes sense that while the shaves are more forgiving and less risky for cuts etc. that they would also be less effective and require a bit more effort.

As for today it took three passes to achieve a very nice DFS and that was with minimal burn from the alum. Rather than go ATG on the neck I chose to use the pain slide technique in its place. I'm not sure if I will continue to get away with that or not once I go to the Kai Original, but we shall see! The Veg for a great finish and a busy day at work.

Mothers day shave.
Today in my homeland of England it's Mothers day today. I think.
In honour if my mum I decided to use products gifted to me by my loving mother. It turned out to be a great shave.

Every time I use this 1920s Old Type razor I can't help but wonder who bought it new,what did he do for a living,where was he from?
The shave with this razor and blade combo was one of the best I have had yet,the E-Shave cream was thick,slick and provided a nice cushion.
The old spice A/S went very nice with the Orange Sandalwood PSB, My face is smooth and refreshed,yet another BBS shave!
