Saturday was a sure sign my skills and confidence with a SR have reached the same level as with a DE. Saturday was our bi-annual staff meeting, when I have a big meeting I usually pull out my 2011 R41 but Saturday with out hesitation I used my Portland Razors Co kamisori.... and it delivered an epic shave.

Today I am leaving for annual pilgrimage to the homeland so I wanted to use SR, making it a PRC weekend I used my Portland Razor Co damascus in horn.

 

Those are both beautiful razors. The Damascus looks great. Another question: how is the Queen Charlotte Fougere?

 

I am QCS fan boy, for their creams. When I use a scuttle and very hot warm the performance does not degrade, it is a slick and protective as always. I am big fan of fougere scents and I really like QCS. To give you and idea of my tastes her are some of the fougere based perfumes I like, YSL Rive Gauche, Houbigant fougere Royal and Creed GIT. I think the QCS smells in-between the Rive Gauche and Houbigant.

QCS Fougère is one of my favourite software choices.

A friend here in Adelaide has made a Damascus steel near wedge kamisori and I took it from absolutely no bevel to a scary insane shave ready edge. Lots of work with my 600 then 1k then 3k followed by soft and hard Arkansas, Chinese 12k with Slurry and then C12k with water.



So manouverable and no cuts nicks or weepers.
Easy BBS.
I hope the Bunny will understand.

3/06/16 - Arlington & JR Torrey!!

A very good 2 pass shave with this razor that was brought to life by Dillon at www.fretzwerks.com.



From what I've read, this Torrey is an old American from the early 1900's I believe. JR's dad started making them in 1895. By 1960's the company went under. The classic "riches to rags" case. Just couldn't conform to the changing times.

The scales are not the original, which were the corn cob scales. These are a blonde horn off of an early 1800's razor. Very old.

 

That is so cool to hear. I too shave with the R41 during the work week and use straight when I am in the mood for variety, which is typically weekends.

I was thinking about taking my straight on a business trip next week for the first time.
