    Prep: Hot Shower/ Nivea Men's Original Face Wash
    Pre-Shave: Proraso White
    Soap: First Canadian Shave Co. Bay Rum and Lime
    Brush: Whipped Dog 24mm Silvertip
    Razor/ Blade: Merkur 1906/ Voskhod (1)
    Astringent: Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: SC Integrity Balm
    Aftershave: Captain's Choice Bay Rum
    Very nice shave last night. I really like the fresh lime scent added to the Bay Rum scent. The rest of this week my soaps will be summer scented because we are pretty much done with the cold weather in Boston, and my spring break starts Thursday night. The First Canadian shave soap is very good--easy to load, easy to lather with a thick and slick lather, and post-shave is very good due to lanolin and silk. The Whipped Dog 24mm silvertip brush is a great brush. Not much backbone, but it is very soft and works great with softer soaps and creams. It has less backbone than the Semogue OC Silvertip. Captain's Choice Bay Rum is some of my favorite stuff, too. Have a great day!

    No, sir. I am not. I have much, much to learn about photography and I am just a beginner. I am just very fortunate that my camera and lens work so well and that my editing system on my computer, Gimp, allows me to edit my photos as such. :D

    2 Pass shave this morning. I love the scent of Admiralty, nice citrus for nice weather. It is finally starting to get warm and it is going to be a beautiful day here in Detroit. Back to the shave, I think it is time to retire this blade, it was tugging and a bit rough. As good as the soap and aftershave is, Reef Point balms are even better. Nice menthol cooling and moisturizing ingredients, plus the scent lasts longer than any other balm I have tried. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great day!

    March into Artist Club Blades

    March 7

    Razor - Feather SS

    Post - Cold Rinse, Alum, Nivea Original Balm, Aqua Velva Ice Blue

    Final day on the Kai Captain Mild blade with the Feather SS. It's been a good week overall with few problems and I can give the blade credit for the low number of issues. There were more than a few opportunities to draw serious blood that were averted due to the forgiving nature of the mild blade. Hopefully my technique is back in shape with the razor so that those opportunities won't be a problem as I move to sharper blades. I was also impressed with the smoothness of the blade through the week. Very comfortable and also effective. Of course, having no guard to get in the way of an AC blade does make it easier to deliver a shave even on less sharp blades due to the ability to adjust the angle for maximum effect. Still, it's never a good idea to set too vertically. The only blood I earned this week was from that mistake.

    The final shave today went very well like the others. Three passes to a DFS and no issues. The blade is still performing well and could continue on for more shaves if I wanted. All in all a good week with the pain stick and the Kai Mild has impressed. I could see it being an everyday choice, as long as you are comfortable enough in your masculinity to not try and go "super sharp and deadly" just for effect. Of course, I'll be moving up to the Kai Captain Original tomorrow to feed that masculine need. Woof!
