    Doug,

Is the Olive Wood handle the one we got on the group buy? What knot did you put in it? Mine is still on the to-do list. Been working restores.

    Thanks.....

I had purchase a number of Olive Wood handles some time ago. I already had them when I heard about the group buy.
It is a Silvertip Badger 24/67. The Olivewood handle specifications are:

    a/ height of the whole handle is 60mm ( 2.1/2 inch )
b/ diameter of the hole ( inside to inside ) is 25mm (1 inch ).
c/ depth of the hole is varies between 20 to 22mm

I built the depth up some so I had a 50mm loft on the knot. I have found that 49mm or 50mm works best for me personally. There are many more people here that know much more than I about this. Hope this helps.

    Pinaud Clubman

A note on these blades. They are the CVS brand blade. I believe they are the carbon steel Personna/GEM blade. I have been doing a belly strop with them this week. After rinsing the blade, I do eight strops on each side across my A-shirt covered belly. This completes the drying process to keep the blade from rusting.

The Old Spice Lime Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #47 synthetic brush. Two passes with my GEM 1912 razor and a GEM SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

To shave with a Glacial soap on Tuesday is a Stirling idea - don't you agree, gentlemen?

I might as well admit once for all that I'm a hopelessly-addicted Menthol Monkey and proud to be one - this will be another BRRRRRRRRRR-COLD and beautiful shave with some of the most fabulous face-freezers on the market. I also cannot believe how this Plissoft brush became my go-to for my every day shave. The Glacial Wintergreen soap's lather is so awesome, its wonderful scent fills the bathroom, and that freeze slams you right away. The longer this lather is on your face, the colder it feels but the skincare cannot be beaten. The matching balm not only freezes you more, it makes your skin feel like you've been to a spa. The witch hazel is almost, but not quite, quite as intensely-frigid as the Arctique aftershave and it also soothes as well as protects against dryness or irritation. As soon as Rod releases the new Glacial editions for this year I'll be going on a big buying spree! ;) :D

    Tuesday's shave
Now that my ChiseledFace's are here(didn't expect them so soon)I have A LOT of variety for quite a while. Anyway:
    Prep-Dial 4 Men Bodywash(in shower)
    Cream-Rise Super Foam
    Razor-the SensorMobile
    A.S.-Aqua Velva Musk A.S. Cologne

it's also going to be a challenge to juggle the Aftershaves with the temperature going up and down here these days. But I am so glad my CF's are here!!

My Chiseled Face choices have hints of tobacco, so perhaps I should honor Tobacco Tuesday(well, they ain't Tabac, but there IS tobacco)

    Monday's Shave

    Cold water
    Pso-Homemade mint oil
    Razor-Gillette Black Handle Super Speed
Blade- Personna Blue (1) Feather (5)
    Brush-Omega S
    Soap- RazoRock XXX
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB-Nivea Sensitive

Thanks to @phillpsych I had another great shave tonight. He donated the Black Handle Super Speed to the February newbie giveaway. I started with the Personna Blue but after one pass I swapped in the Feather from my Flair Tip. I did not like the Personna, it drug across my face and barely reduced anything. The Feather finished up great.
This was also my first go with the RazoRock XXX. I really like the scent and it lathered great. The Thayers and Nivea finished off a DFS.
