One of the best shaves I've had all week - this damned Junjie razor cleans me up ultra-BBS whenever I use it. It's not quite as comfortable as my 1950's Super Speed, but it's not an especially aggressive DE either. The Edwin Jagger Menthol cream is very easy to lather, and its cooling effect is pleasant - it comes out stronger during the second pass. The Plissoft is officially my favourite brush now, by the way. My bottle of Aqua Velva is now empty after I splashed on the remaining few drops so I'll go buy another one today! :happy088::happy088:

Thank you. Yes this is the new brush that arrived yesterday. It has a very dense knot with soft tips and tons of backbone.

    Futur vs. OCMM
I decided to put my favorite razor to the test against my newest (to me) razor. Head to head with the same soap, brush and aftershave. The Futur set on six. I've gotten great shaves from each and I wanted to compare them more closely. Both are known for efficiency so I compared that and comfort as the second factor. I realize that my technique with each is not equal - I've shaved over 100 times with the Futur, and 7 with the OCMM. Keeping that in mind, I went ahead.
First pass: WTG I used the OCMM on the right and the Futur on the left for each pass. I'll do this again later and reverse the sides of my face to make it more fair. Both razors easily reduced my stubble with pretty loud audio feedback. To the touch there was not much difference in efficiency or comfort so far.
Second pass: XTG I found the OCMM not surprisingly more maneuverable due to the smaller head, but the weight of the Futur makes it seem effortless. Both still seem comfortable and certainly efficient.
Third pass: ATG the OCMM seemed louder during this pass, but neither razor set itself far apart. Both sides of my face feel very smooth, but both sides of my neck got small weepers and some burn, too. I think the late appearing weepers came from touch ups rather than the ATG pass.
Verdict: I think the Futur is more comfortable overall, and no less efficient than the OCMM. Now I realize and expect that I can improve the comfort of the OCMM as my technique with it improves, so I am optimistic about the SE razor. I also know the Futur is more comfortable for me when set on five, though the efficiency does decrease a bit. I'm glad I did this side by side comparison, if only to satisfy my own curiosity. I will do it again some time when my SE technique is better. In the meantime I've got two razors I enjoy using.

Disclaimer: This shave has been sponsored by @Dzia Dzia ;) I received this razor (and a pack of blades) just yesterday, after I won it at the TSD raffle. Thank you again, Don.

So here it comes: My very first Injector shave

    1203_ji.jpg

    - Route 66 "Sweeney Todd"
    - Semogue OC badger
    - Schick G
    - Ted Pella PTFE blade
    - Morning Glory ASB

My first thought when I saw this razor: Wow, that is small. Don't know why, but I expected something the size of a GEM Featherweight or even bigger.

So after the shower I lathered the Sweeney Todd, which has a very pleasant, kind of "fruity green" scent. Nice slickness and cushioning. After the first few strokes with the Schick I thought: This is really smooth. Some more strokes and I realized: That thing does not cut any hair, it just wipes off the soap. That can't be right. Am I too stupid to use this razor properly?

Fortunately I had watched Geofatboys video about shaving with a Schick Injector before. And the same thing had happened to him - the reason for that was a faulty blade. I had loaded a fresh one before the shave and apparently it was completely dull. So I loaded a new blade and - it worked :)

And how it worked. All I can say is: WOW. That was absolutely incredible. Super smooth, foolproof and at the same time very efficient. Two passes WTG and ATG and my face was BBS. Not even my favorite DE razor, the Futur, has impressed me that much with the first shave. I am officially hooked - I might just have found my shaving grail. And I'm afraid this won't be my last Injector! Now I am really looking forward to trying the Bunny razor.

Some questions: Does the razor need any special maintenance? Or just the usual rinse and let dry routine? And these Ted Pella blades are basically Personnas, right? So the same as these?

Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone! :happy088:
