My first finds in the wild today.

Visited a small local shop that does estate liquidation and one of the guys there had a small plastic bag full of old razors and brushes for cheap. Most of it might go right to the trash bin, but then there is a nice (but dirty) Slim Adjustable, a German Rotbart Butterfly (some sort of Gillette Slim Twist knockoff), two tiny and very cute brushes (one of them with "made in DDR" mark) and two more badger brushes that might be salvageable.

I'm at work now, so I'll ad pictures tomorrow.

I have yet to find anything in the wild that wasn't wayyyyyy over priced. I guess its not really in the wild when the seller knows what they have

My Italian Barber order just arrived...will pick one and post up tomorrow on the SOTD!!

Yes you are correct. They have been reformulated several times.

Now 3 formulations ago was very good.

Last one wasn't the best to many peoples standards. Loaded heavy enough it was a nice shave tho.

Now this formulation is back to Potassium Palmate as the first ingredient. It's supposed to be quite nice now.

C&E hasn't been spoken of a lot as the soaps to many took a turn for the worse.

Almond oil in the TSF? What is the other one?

The Gold one is Figaro Monsieur and this is what it says at IB:
A Classic Italian soft shaving soap that is enriched with argan oil for a wonderful post-shave feel. The Oud scent is intoxicating and will have you coming back to smell the soap between shaves... trust me

Okay guys - so here are the pictures of yesterday's haul:



The Super Adjustable and the Straight are junk, unfortunately. The Black Beauty doesn't even open properly any more. And the straight razor has been honed down to what ... 2/8" ?
I will clean the rest and see how it will turn out.



These two small brushes are really cute. The right one in the back might be NOS - looks like it has been a spare and never used. The other one sheds like crazy.



The best piece of the lot. Should clean up nicely - guess I will sell it, so I basically get the rest for free.
