I was curious when @Hodge wrote that, because I could have sworn that you said Twins would only work in type L and later and none of the Hydromagic varieties.

But I couldn't find the post where you wrote that. Had to go by my memory. (And it ain't so good any more!) :think002:

Would have had the info at my fingertips if I had the book.
(You know, the one that you haven't written yet!!!) :angry032:

Yeah..That's Correct..They are recommended in the I Type and later..I would continue to Advice that to Folks because it still holds True..Just because they Slip into the D Type doesn't mean that they were ever recommended for them..I still have reservations about the D Type & we can only Do these things at Our Own Risk..I certainly wouldn't be recommending it to anybody..Not even Sure if I would Go there Myself..:D

Well I think it's good advice to Roger to at least unload the blade after he's done with it.

Interested to see if he notices if the clamp ever loosens up as a result.

Tempting of course with his claim of best Schick shave ever.

Taking a walk on the wild side. (Nice shave technique to start this one!)

This is the first razor ive tried a twin in and was totally impressed. I was lucky enough to have a couple blades sent to me by a member. Ive only found one seller on Ebay and he doesnt ship to Canada.

Aye..The Twins Transform an Injector for Sure..There is No Bones about That..Whether I would use them in the D Type is another Matter because they are So Rare & I wouldn't be Keen to Damage it..The Twins work very well in the Type I onwards..That is to say any Model without the Rinsing Lever that is..:)

Well you guys had me worried enough to go look:signs002:
All seems fine. The razor seems nice and tight still with the blade removed. :)

Yeah, I'm gonna be tempted to try the same. I've tried the NOS Twins in the C1 and L before and they seem like a game changer.

Alright!!!! Actually that didn't take long at all.....But finally we have an E1 here at the Party.....I only know of one other, across the street...He's a friend of yours too, Billy....But thats it.....

This is the first one here at TSD Injector and SE Party, (and hope it's not the last }8^)).....Menthol Is On The House!!!!!

Sounds just like I expected.....Might have to keep that one, Big Guy!

HAPPY 102nd BIRTHDAY to the "LITTLE LATHER CATCHER"....the EverReady 1914!!!!!!!

    Today's Shave
    Hot Whisker Rinse
    William's Mug Soap/Omega 10029
    ER 1914/GEM stainless with 1/2 Hill-Fergie Shim d1
    Thayer's Original Witch Hazel
    Clubman Classic Vanilla/Special Reserve

This is the Wild Child I remember....Not only do you hear each whisker being whacked off....You FEEL it vibrate through the handle...The way the handle has that skinny neck attached to the lather catcher top, really transmits all the vibrations from the blade to your finger tips.....This razor is so loud it will wake up the neighbors and it almost vibrates out of my hand....:happy108:

Somethings you just can't improve on! I think Joseph Kaufman; the first President of the American Razor Co.; hit on perfection when he invented and patented his ER1914....I is chocked full of everything I love about Traditional Wet Shaving....It's romantic, transmits me to another time, looks great, was the last and most modern lather catcher, shaves second to none.....What more can you ask!

    image.jpg

This one is my favorite SE.....I prefer the ER1914 and ER1924 over the GEM 1912s, which I love aswell...

PS....although I get fantastic shaves with just a modern GEM blade.....I do recommend and endorse the Hill-Fergie shim....for me the 1/2 shim works perfect with this razor....

For some reason I am thinking that the Twins match razors after the G. So, I1 and above (but no levers - e.g. hydro magics) but let's not forget the H. Pity the poor H. Only those who have it know what a standout it is. :p

Today was my annual Ever-Ready 14 birthday shave. It turned out to be an excellent shave. This is the closest I will get to a straight razor shave. That blade is really out there. No nicks, no cuts, and no abrasions. Just a close respectable near baby bottom smooth shave. Now, I am ready for The Bunny's arrival. Look for pictures later this afternoon.

I'm happy to have picked a GEM SE razor from the Nationwide Tour Box.

I need to know about blades! What should I get, and where is the best place to buy?

It's similar to this stock photo:

I can add a photo of my specific razor later today perhaps. Thanks for your help!
