Post some review of how the shave went and were you able to straighten up the alignment

Thank you Robert. I have done twelve shaves on Derby before, 21 on a GSB. 1 April, I will put a Derby in the Grande. What day do you think I will give up on it?

Given that track record I think you'll do great! This is an aggressive razor though so I say maybe you'll get oh, 8! Don't forget to align it well. :)

I will play it straight and honest though, as soon as it falters, I'll give up. Fair trial promised.

    after three shaves...
The Fatip Grande is remarkably similar in feel to my memory of Cadet OC. It's pretty wide open, and the comb curve is quite steep. A razor head like this is built for "riding the cap". My guess is that everyone who gets torn up by this razor is using a high angle of attack, and then applying heavy pressure to increase razor cutting efficiency. I made those mistakes myself with a Cadet OC in 2014, so I knew how to approach this razor a better way. Shallow angle is the key to Fatip. The teeth on the comb allow for really nice glide in XTG and ATG strokes. I will need to try a GSB in it on 30 April, for science, but this razor would be ok with pretty much any blade out there. Tha razor has nice heft for its size and the one I received had no issues with blade alignment or finish. The nickel finish rinses clean rather easily in cold water. Three shaves so far this month, all on a single Derby blade, and all were near BBS. No irritation issues at all, save for day one when I was trying to feel the angles. As noted Derby is in play, and it's been unremarkable. I really haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary, and the blade will see day four.
