The Haul: March 2016

2 minute boiling water/Dawn soak, a quick scrub with a very stiff plastic kitchen brush, a bit of Brasso on the grimy handle, Maas on the doors, Sharpie on the numbers and 3 in 1 Oil down the riser.

 

I gave it a quick wash and lather... it's quite a knot when it's bloom. I'm sure it will show up somewhere on TSD soon.

 

I love the looks of that Omega il rasoio. "Limited edition" - BAH!

I should be in good shape for stones now. Have this 1k, a norton 4k/8k, a SS 12k and DMT Course for lapping. SRP Paddle strop with both CrOX and diamond felt strips. So if I can't get an edge, it's all me. I had already got a great edge on my Friedr Schlemper Focus Spezial, but having issues with my W.H. Morley & Sons. It has a small warp, I think so I need to learn to use some advanced strokes for it. Hoping the new J.R. Torrey hones up well, gonna give it a try today. Does anyone else use the dressing stone?

Slightly early birthday haul, thanks to @mhari_dubh and The Shaving Edge's final sale:

• Fine Angel Hair synthetic brush with the dark/clear acrylic base - the synthetic I most wanted. Slight alignment issues - as some have mentioned - but a nice looking brush with some weight to it.
• Local Gent Shaving Co. Tobacco Lounge shaving soap - my first foray into tobacco scents.
• RazoRock For Chicago shaving croap - the city of my birth, with white floral scents; probably a winner for me.
• Shaver Heaven Fresh Ginger shaving soap - I like ginger; we'll have to see how the scent translates as a soap, including whether there's that 'ginger tingle' on the face like you'd get from eating it.

 

I have that brush @Jasman I think you'll really enjoy it. It's uber soft and lathers anything but it's also great for face lathering.

 

Just recieved my first arko stick. It came all the way from turkey!

 

A couple of Old Spice mugs arrived in the mail today. I didn't need any more but the price was less than $6 each including shipping so I couldn't pass them up.

 

You got one for me right? Beautiful haul!!!

 

Just got an email back. They are shipping a new bottle out ASAP. Woooot!!!

I wasn't near as lucky as John but still got another OS mug to add to my pile. An ER 100 blue handle. And my first engraved door Schick Krona. My others aren't marked on the doors.

And I finally found a vintage ad. This will get framed. Luckily they wrote the price on the other side so I don't have to worry about trying to erase it from this side.
