You know you're on holiday when your shave gear looks like it was made for hobbits.

Thats is a nice write up. I have yet to try a straight. This is encouraging. Although I don't yet know what 6/8 means.

Thank you! I encourage you to give it a try. There are so many knowledgeable folks here that are always willing to help. "6/8" refers to the width of the blade in inches.

    6/8 means 3/4". But I`m just guessing.

I haven't posted past couple of days but you ain't missing anything. They were ok.

    Razor - hoffritz slant
    Blade - Israel store brand
    Brush - trader joes
    Soap - trader joes
Post - witch hazel, trader joes balm
    Cologne - citrus musk

    - today was by far the best shave with the slant.. And I'm soo glad. I want to love this razor. And today I'm in the " i think I like you a lot " part of our relationship. To me.. This razor is very aggressive. The blade combo with the slant is important I think for me to get a good shave where I don't feel the razor is trying to cut the hairs that haven't even grown yet.. With the Astra sp it feels like I'm shaving with a machete. With the spoiler Gillette superstainless it feels like I'm shaving with a Bowie knife.. The Israel blade seems just right. I have a slight irritation spot under my chin but that's all me. I kept going over that spot. But damn if I ain't smooth all over.. A couple of spots I can tell I missed a few tiny hairs but I mean I'm smooooth all around. I'm very very happy!!
    Happy shaving gents.

Prep - Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam
Razor - Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip
Blade - Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge (#2 and definitely out!)
    Brush - Omega 20106
    Soap - Dusy Kabinett
After - Frozen towel / Brut Original A/S
    Result - Just okay.

First shave in a long time that I'm not happy with. The first run out with this blade was up to the usual standard but by the third pass today, it was just plain blunt. It nearly felt like I'd forgotten to put a blade in! Subsequently I have to record my first non-BBS shave in a year and a half. I'll probably clean up tomorrow.
I'm certainly not going to lay any blame with the soap, great glide and cushion although I'll defer my verdict on how it performs post-shave.

image.jpeg Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3) (original case and blade pack with instructions)
    Brush: Maggard Synthetic 24/57 2016
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS Frosted Glass 1960s

Whipped up the Truefitt&Hill No 10 in a minute with the Maggard . I like the Syntheric brushes, no fuss and they cleanup fast. Nice slick cushion and I really like the scent of the No 10. The heavy handle and head of the Slim gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure with a Feather blade set on 5. WTG and XTG on my face and neck. Then ATG set on 3. Very smooth. The Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera felt good on my face and that natural scent was nice and fresh. After cleanup, I smoothed on some Jack Black, and then some Vintage Old Spice Lime AS from 1960s. This AS is my favorite, and it is the real deal. Y'all have a good one!

Third shave with the Crystal and it was still smooth and sharp, no need to ditch it yet. Gave me a three pass BBS! Have a great shave and day everyone. And have happy Easter too!
