I'd like to try Ogalla BR, but my impression is that it is too "clovey".

 

On the opposite extreme of your shave, I once tried Clubman A.S. on a hot, humid day and wound up sweating bullets. Should have used Glacial WG(if I had it).

 

The Ogallala's have some clove, but they are about the only one I use, period.

I am one of those guys who wants to love Bay Rum so much, and try about every one I can get my hands on. Most of the time, I am disappointed, too strong, or my wife tells me I smell like a ham.

The Ogallala's give you that slap in the face Bay Rum right away, and then seem to mellow out. They still have a presence, but at least my wife tells me I smell like cookies instead of a ham in the oven.

Tomorrow's Easter Shave

Ended up getting 8 inches of snow today. Went out in shorts to face the cold for this photo.
Razor: 57 Gillette Flair Tip w/ a fresh GSB
Lather: TSD Shop London For Men Type (smells amazing!!!)
Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
Ending it with some Proraso AS

 

It is clovey. Not as strong as some, but you can definitely smell it.

Have you tried a Russian blade? Like ladas? Personally I have had a weird relationship with them, but I will put it like this: when they worked they did a very nice job and felt smooth. Definitely Smoother than the Astra sp

For My Easter Sunday shave I thought I would give the Atra a go,did My normal three pass shave(wtg,xtg,atg) with great result's.
The E-Shave products always work real well,topped off with Old Spice, I achieved another BBS shave!!
