Lilac Vegetal. An aftershave created by Napoleon for his Hungarian Cavalry. Definitely one of those you either hate or love. There is no in between. If you find you love it, you really don't decide it's wonderful....you are "chosen" by this most masculine and unique scent to wear it proudly.

I find the Napolen/Hungary aspect of this interesting. Stirlingsoap has one in honor of Napoleon too..in fact it is in his name(Bonaparte).

Why couldn't he have created Clubman ORIGINAL for the Hungarian soldiers?

It's official. I'm taking the day off for Thursday's shave. It is to get an extra day's growth so I can try out the WILD comb. So, the gear will get the day off as the beard gets another day to grow.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20160330_181715.jpg

    Prep: Occams crushed lime
    Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Schick twin DE (3rd shave)
    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
    Soap: Local Gent Lime Street
Post: Osage Rub/ Reef Point Admiralty Balm

2 pass shave today. Went with the Lime Street soap again, it makes a wonderful lather and has a fresh lime scent. Very good soap. Today's shave went much smoother than yesterday. Very little irritation. Finishedoff with Reef Point Admiralty, another great product. Hope everyone had a great shave!

I was surprised to see you also used Local Gent soap. There doesn't seem to be much info about it, but the lather is surprisingly great. How is the tobacco scent? Sounds like it would be great!

Thank you Mike! I'm having so much fun with the injector. Tomorrow I'm gonna do the R41 to make sure I don't lose my touch and then I'm going back to the N1 again. :scared011:

It's no use - there's nothing I can do, my friends. I'm hopelessly addicted to Rod's wonderful soaps and that's all there is to it. The Black Ice has a very similar scent to the Glacial Obsidian which is sweet anise. However: The Black Ice, in spite of being very, very cooling and refreshing has perhaps half the menthol content that the Glacial Obsidian has so there's no danger of tearing eyes and a runny nose. This soap also gives brilliant lather and perfect skincare just as all of the Stirling soaps do. Monsieur Claude Pilon, le grand maitre de Gatineau, Quebec has a wonderful, wonderful Bergamot Vetiver aftershave which smells beautiful and gives a frigid wallop while making the skin feel healthy and well-cared for. Bravo, mon vieux et bonne continuation! ;) :D

We'd have to take a poll of local working girls from that age to see if maybe the Original wouldn't please them as much as the Veg. The real reason behind its creation appears to be to help the cavalrymen cover up the smell of the horses and other assorted odors so that the local girls would even get near them. After all, when it's time for R&R you don't want to waste time actually bathing and cleaning up!
