Injector & SE Party !!!

Guys I just checked my USPS tracking and the blades @Redfisher graciously PIFED are out for delivery! I'm thinking of trying the Gem Art Deco SE tomorrow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, it's kind of a scarey looking apparatus! But very !!

I have been Using my Straight's over the last couple weeks that I have bought after Selling off just about near my whole Gem blade SE Collection..I just followed in that Note Today & had the Most Wonderful Dolphin Smooth Shave with my Wedge/Hollow Ground Rolls Razor..My blade is very sharp but sort of more Importantly its also very Smooth & Forgiving...A sharp Wedge blade is One thing but a Smooth One is Another..

I got a Hold of some hard to get Shannon's Soap here in the UK from a private Brit EBay Seller..Shannon's for me has Great Glide but lacks Cushion...I am coming form a Hollow Ground blade perspective here as that wouldn't be the case with a Modern Safety razor as its a Darn Fine Soap..That said I have found for me that a Traditional Tallow like Cella, Vitos or something like Volbora just cant be beaten for shaving with Hollow Ground SEs & Traditional Straights...I did read the ingredient's & it contains Tallow Oils..These Artisan soap makers in my View just water down the True Benefits of Tallow soaps when they add too many other fancy ingredient's..I enjoyed my Shave today with the Almighty Rolls..

I Couldn't get my phone to download today as that was another shave days setup..Awesome Shavers these..I couldn't be bothered shaving with my Gem blade SEs after experiencing these Hollow Ground or Wedge blade SEs..Someone Warned me that might Happen..

A natural progression!

 

These Wilkinson Sword blades arrived today. They look good, the spine is thicker than the modern GEM blade and the edge looks polished to a shine. I'm going to get one into one of my milder razors tomorrow and see if the shave is good. I can't find anything about when they might have been made, if I had to guess I would say the 70's. They appear to have been made at the New Jersey plant.

 

Looking forward to your review Mike. Nice colors on that packaging... Looks like the old Technicolor!

 

I'm thinking that these are as rare as unicorn fur. I will see if they work!

I've been reluctant to let my 15 year old try an injector until he mastered a DE. Today he tried a PAL injector and after the shave immediately announced that he's a fan. May offer a E3,E5 or adjustable M2 next, will hold off on the E2's for a while.

 

Well..That Shannon's Silk Pyjamas Soap has Severely Burned the Face off Me & Itching my Skin..Another soap for Flushing down the Toilet..

Are you getting delayed reactions from your soaps?

 

I should have known Better Tom..I snatched it up because of the Tallow thing an All...It was a Delayed Kinda Reaction..My Face looks as if its been Under a Sun Lamp..I have got to be real careful with what I put on my Skin..Whilst this stuff doesn't appear at 1st to be heavy scented I can still smell it on my skin & hands when I touch my face so I can..

You need to make your own. I can put gas on my face and not get a rash. I am lucky that way.

 

I have a Number of Tallow Soaps I am fine with..I am just Gonna Stick to them is All..Every so called Artisan Soap Crap that I have tried Burns the Face off me..Its my own fault for thinking this might be different..It wasn't what it has been Cracked up to be either..
