I'm seeing some serious prices on some razors, anyone check out the double ring that went for $515? And the type F injector can't be touched for under $300. The repeating razors are up in price, probably because of the SSROC (my bad since I started it).
I saw a black beauty listed for $425.00 or best offer. I offered $12.00 because he wants $12.00 shipping. He hasn't responded yet.
That's a good strategy. Whenever someone asks too much for a relatively common razor, I'll ask them if they made a typo. Or if the price was supposed to be humorous.
Here's a sweet deal for a red tip for only 1$129 http://m.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-GILLETTE-RED-TIP-RAZOR-DATE-1456-/162011689559?nav=SEARCH
So true about the Repeaters. I paid less than $100 total for all 4 of mine. So glad I joined your club when I did. I guess the A and C3 I need will cost me a few Benjies now
There's a little trick I use for ebay. You have to search for a term not really related to razors. Example I searched for estate finds. And about 10 pages in BINGO there was a black beauty with a couple of rusty wrenches and got it for $8.00. I cleaned and polished her up and it looked almost new.
Aye. My threads on Cooper Monobilts and Shake Sharps boosted the price on both those into the $100 range. Especially after the Shake Sharp pass arounds. I'm kind of over Shake Sharps, but I wouldn't mind adding a third MonoBilt to my collection.
And for $38 plus shipping you can get a Gillette Fat Boy with a red tip! http://m.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Gille...AT-BOY-Red-Flare-Tip-/111949594967?nav=SEARCH
Yeah, those non-ajustable red tip Fatboy's are pretty rare. @Spyder no links to live auctions, though in about 30 minutes your faux pas will be rendered moot.
Really curious to see how the vintage prices are going to be affected by the new line of Gillette re-entry razors they are about to start marketing...
