Beautiful Guy! You're only the second person I've noticed with that razor, @Herm2502 being the other but I think his is the brushed chrome.
Tomorrow will be the first time using it. Smells like old spice with a little kick. Suppose to be gunpowder and haven't smelled gunpowder in four years but does smell pretty good. Have to see how the performance lives up. I also bought their Bay, Whisky & Lime and that smells even better to me which I will use on Tuesday.
I bought both over a year ago and sold the other off just this past January. This razor opened my eyes to what an efficient razor really is. Up to this point I had thought to be an efficient razor it had to be on the heavier side so I opted for longer and heavier handles but this is super light and really efficient for me so it taught me a valuable lesson.
Arko April in Russia! April 2 Razor - 1959 Gillette Super Speed Blade - (2) Brush - Omega 10066 - BoS Soap - Arko Post - Cold water rinse, Alum, The Veg I think I'm getting this new shaving routine down. Shaving at the sink instead of in the shower takes a bit of getting used to, but using the Arko stick helps. Wet my face, rub the stick all over, use a wet brush and WHAMMO! Lather that is rich, slick, cushiony and ready to go. Second day on the Rapira Platinum Lux and I'm remembering why I should use this blade more often. Yesterday was a two pass BBS. I caught the baby again today on three passes. Fine, fine shave. I really didn't need a full third pass to finish but I just wasn't finished shaving so I went the full pass anyway. Alum was again quiet, and the Veg, well, what more needs to be said? Mostochlegmash really does make fine blades and this kind of start to a month of Russians is very satisfying as well as just plain fun. What I like most is the fact that my technique is SO far advanced from a year ago when I was still figuring these blades out the first time. Using the pain stick and straight were definitely good for my DE technique. Much more familiar with my face, angles, and I find using the DE again much faster than I remember. All in all, a good two days and I can't wait to shave tomorrow! One more day on the PL and I expect it to be a great one. Some things in Russia may not be perfect, or even close, but they definitely get their blades right! Now if they could just spring for a new delivery truck!

Sunday Shave: Sweet Black Alumigoose 2 w/ Captain ProTouch PAA Rubberset replica with TGN Finest knot Mystic Water Adirondack Jack Floïd Black AS splash I know that the Black from Floïd is by many thought of as similar to Creed Aventus. And I get that; there are some similar notes in there. However, enter Stirling's spot on replication of Aventus in a soap: Executive Man, and Mystic Water's tribute to Michelle's grandfather, Adirondack Jack. These two soaps are definitely not very similar (to my nose). It is, however, AJ that is perfectly matched by the Black splash. Wonderful combo AJ scent description from MW website: oakmoss and vetiver, a touch of myrrh, sweet dried tobacco and a little tangerine and soft floral accord. -- It's probably the tangerine that does the trick vis-a-vis Black.
GOOD MORNING TSD!! SOTD 04/03/16 '62 Gillette Slim Adjustable(set on 7) Personna(6) Badger Brush C.O.Bigelow Cold Water Rinse,Alum Block Aqua Velva A/S Woke up to four inch's of snow this morning, oh well if you don't like the weather around here wait ten minutes it will change!! Had a very close and smooth shave albeit a fast one, everything worked well together for another BBS!! HI HO HI HO Its off to make pancakes I go!! ( Sorry no picture today late night at hunting camp, early morning for a fund raiser) HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!
Our water is soft (and doesn't vary from day to day, anyway so that shouldn't be the problem. I think it's also sensitive to how much water to add in total and at a time, though. Got a great functioning lather today, it just didn't LOOK perfect. The knot of today's brush is set too high for my taste, really, but that has the effect of tending to produce a bit thinner and more airy lather - maybe that's the trick with MW? Stop chasing the perfect lather?
SOTD Sun. 4/3/16 Pre Shave Cleanser: Noxzema Classic Pre Shave: Noxzema Classic Shave Soap: Figaro Monsieur Gold Shave Brush: Semogue 620 Boar Razor: Schick N1 Blade: Schick Twin (3) After Shave Balm: Stirling Mita Soap: Grandpa's Sandalwood & Shea Soap Cologne: 1881 by Cerruti Good morning everyone. Outstanding shave this morning with the N1 and may I say this razor is the formula one in my den, its fast and easy to maneuver like nobody's business. Happy to report that the Twin blade is showing no signs of wear on it's third shave. This Figaro Monsieur soap is amazing! It's so darn moisturising that I didn't add any soap to my third pass which should be a no no but it worked beautifully and my face feels moisturised post shave. Dolphin smooth guys! Have a great shave and a great day folks.
