I think after looking closer at this that the razor isn't wide enough for the blade. The edge hangs out past the guard. I'm going to wait for more people to try it before I buy one.

But if the head was wider I worry about how you would unload (and re-load) the blade - assuming you snapped off the tabs.

Redfisher makes a great point! They can make the heads maybe 3/16" longer and the tabs will be more covered same as we see in current de market razors, but there will be enough exposure to the side bars to remove the blade, clean the razor and reinsert the blade again, and will be no need for breaking the side bars and leaving even more shap edges than as they are from the factory

Yup a 3/16" to max 1/4" wider head will fix this problem

Yes. It is hard to say from pictures (thanks @Darkbulb )because none of us have tried to load it/unload it, but a lot of razors leave just enough tab exposed to fiddle with blade alignment etc., without having to worry about snagging an earlobe.

A totally uninformed opinion would be that the head could possibly be widened a bit. That said, for the pricepoint, it wouldn't bother me to knock the tabs off and leave it in the razor for a couple/few shaves. Based off of reviews, personally I will try it if I can get one for under $50.

Edit: my only concern is that it isn't quite wide enough to cover the blade edge.

Is there a tin snip or some other type of hand tool that would trim the tab flush? Or would that create an even sharper edge?

I doubt most people will manage to cut themselves. There's more blade tab sticking out on some Gillette's than on the Rocnel after the tabs are snapped off. I predict it will be a non-issue for the vast majority of users.

I would agree with you mostly in whole; the tabs are of little worry, what worries me is that from Darkbulbs pics, the actual cutting edge is wider than the body of the razor. That could kinda suck a bit.

I would agree and it is also very possible that I won't even cut myself again.
I'll be using it all next week so I guess I'll see :)

That's what I'm saying. The tabs aren't the problem. It's the unprotected edge of the blade. Pretty much a no go for me. I'll be back for V2.

I noticed, you got 2 handles, will that be the standard or did you have to order the extra one?

How are you liking your Rocnel?
I think it took me a full day for any stubble to return after my last shave - it shaves very close :)
