I will tell you. It was the closest shave ever for me. I was BBS this morning. I will use the comb tonight with the feather. I think 2 passes will do the job.

After a good, but not exceptional, shave with the F I brought it out again today. This time the blade was a new NOS Schick Platinum Plus. This is the one razor I have found that seems made for the Plat Plus. No drama, easy, and super close shave. Just like it should be. :happy088:

Yeah, I'm glad you did because it reminded me that I had used a Plat Plus back in December and was surprised that I liked it better than the Schick. Good call. :happy088:

Very cool razor @Robyflexx , glad you enjoyed the injector experience. Do you use the Noxema as a pre shave cleanser or as a pre shave cream as well?

Both! When I'm not using a pre shave oil, I opt for Noxzema. It works wonderfully as a pre shave. It's funny...who would have thought that something we grew up watching our mom's use would turn out to be such a big part of our shave experience. :)

Thats a blade made in heaven that makes a Heavenly match with whatever injector you pair it up with.....:love055:
In other words, those Dutch Schick Blades are just flat the "Dog's Danglies" no razor match required...:happy102:

BTW......I received a gift in the mail today from our very own Super Denizen Gary Carrington....
He said that he is retired from brush making, but he had this matched set, that he had restored not too long ago and wanted me to have....They are late 1940's early 50's...and he knows I am a product of, and very fond of that era so....

    Without further adieu:
    image.jpg
They are the Stag brand, which was marketed by the Rexall Drug's Chain, these were probably made by ASR (Ever Ready), circa 1949-1952....The handles are bakelite or catalin and the knots are Best Badgers....

I'm absolutely knocked out....This handles are really beautiful and a little unusual....

I'm currently on my way upstairs to the Shave Cave to have some fun....Stay Tuned for news and pics immediately following...

Good morning friends. Today was my first shave with the Gem and an SE type period. I have mixed feeling about this razor. This thing is super loud and it cuts very close, after 2 passes adjusted for my growth and with touch-ups to my troubled areas i'm dolphin smooth. This blade doesn't flex so whatever is in the way it's going down and it worked really well for my heavy chin growth which it just mowed down effortlessly. Getting under the immediate nostril area seems impossible to me but it works so well atg under the nose that it left nothing behind. So why do i have mixed feelings? Well, is it effective? Hell yes! Is it fun to shave with? Nope! It's bulky and the angle makes it so that you must hold it at a very steep upright position which tends to feel unnatural to me. Perhaps that could change down the line with more practice. Have a great shave and a great day folks. :)

If I had the Dutch Danglies I'd be using them. @Billyfergie had suggested a NOS blade to replace my worn Schick. It reminded me that I had used a NOS Platinum Plus when I first got the F and found it to be a really good match. :happy036:

However, when your Dutch wonder is ready to be replaced I'd love to hear what you think of the Plat Plus by comparison. :chores016:

I'll have to agree with you that SE razors are clunky and awkward to maneuver. And I have come to realize they aren't quite as fun to use. At first they were because they were new to me. But even just 5 shaves in they already lost their appeal. Hopefully it changes for me as well with improved technique
