Marvellous Friday shave. Newly re-set knot in the Rubberset replica, a few shaves down on the Titan ProTouch blade in the Alumigoose, Martin de Candre Fougere and Pitralon splash. And a couple of dabs of Scottish Fine EdT. Ahhh. Soon time to head over to the 'What's in your glass' thread :D

    And the lather? Yes:

I bet you could float a brick on that lather, it looks so thick and luxurious

Razor - 1959 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Brush - Vie-Long 12705 The Horse
    Soap - Arko
Post - Cold water rinse, Alum, The Veg

Morning already? Wow. Seemed like a short night for some reason but I noticed my beard is a bit light this morning. Apparently yesterday's BBS was a good one! So, should be an easy shave today, not that they're usually that difficult (unless I make them difficult of course).

Grabbed the bigger horse brush today for the lather. Last time I used this I made a huge mess from starting it too wet on the Arko, and holding the base of the knot between my thumb and two fingers. Made sure I gave it one extra shake today then kept my fingers on the handle to lather. Great lather without the mess, that's what I was looking for. This brush holds so much water it's amazing.

Went two full passes with some touch up and the baby was right back in place. Well that was easy. Alum was quiet except for one spot on my neck where I did the slide, and even that was minor. The Veg was quiet and added the perfect finishing touch. If it was this easy every morning I might think I'd died and gone to the motherland. But, I don't smell vodka, caviar or borscht so I guess I'm still in the Lou.

The idiots boys made some progress yesterday after they got a good night's sleep and got their car fished back to the surface. Apparently they realized they were close to Boris's home so they stopped for a meal and a bath. You all just wish you had it this good!

Indeed :D The reason MdC comes top of my list. It just turns into this without much work. (And that is coming from someone who generally doesn't think there really is that much difference between soaps..)

Maybe, but then just about every vendor we know and love on this site is guilty as I have ordered somewhere between 20-25 Aftershaves and colognes and pretty much everyone one was USPS priority and most of these have alcohol in the ingredient list.

    Razor: Gillette SS
    Blade: GSB (2)
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Pre Shave oil: Homemade
    AS: Gillette Gel
    Bowl: Pick Up
    Newspaper Date: Nov. 7.1943

Very fine 2 pass shave. The 1st pass ATG. Smooth as ice, no bumps, cracks or weepers, beautiful! On 2nd pass WTG, same thing, with a little problem with the 2 normal problem areas (say what?) All in all a DFS, no better no worse. My neck came out a little cleaner than usual, so i`m pleased. Very good, if i have to say it myself.

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra Classic, H. Boker straight razor
    Blade: Feather Professional (6)
    Brush: RazoRock Plisson Disruptor
Soap: Saponificio Varesino - 70th Anniversary Special Edition, Beta 4.1
After: Home made ASB, Saponificio Varesino - 70th Anniversary Special Edition after shave balm
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

All I can say is WOW!! The scent on the SV 70th soap is clean, citrus grove and a little flowery. As soon as I smelled the soap I knew that it would have to be paired with the Aqua H2O. The Disruptor brush did a fantastic job whipping the soap into enough lather to do 10 passes, maybe even more. The Cobra and the Boker worked their magic in harmony. The SV 70th ASB went on easily and made my skin feel great. All in all, it was a great 2 pass Darn Fine Shave +. :happy088:

The scent on this soap is bright and spicy. The right choice for a cloudy spring day.
