Another wonderful shave tonight. This combo of brush/soap/razor/blade just plain works. I just did 2 passes tonight for a DFS bordering on BBS, absolutely zero irritation. I'm really liking the Nivea and grapefruit combo, they go really well together. Have a great day folks!

Fridays shave of the day
The Shave felt great, but a few hours after the Shave I noticed my cheeks were very red, warm and very sore. I think it's the aftershave. I love the scent but I don't think it likes me.

Good morning friends. After reading a post by @Joef yesterday i was inspired and this morning i grabbed a perfectly sized container i have and dumped my refrigerator ice bucket into it, filled it with water and got to work. It was fantastic, a revelation almost! I used this ice water for prep, between passes, for wetting my brush, i even dunked my Arko stick in it! Beautiful dolphin smooth shave without even a hint of irritation. My whiskers literally disappeared. I would like to thank @Bama Samurai for his generosity, the Arko stick lathered like a dream and i like the scent, to me it's reminiscent of bar soap. The N1 is a marvelous shave creation. Have a wonderful shave and a wonderful day guys.

I'm in love with my Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap, my Glacial Spearmint balm, and my Lemon Chill witch hazel. These three items gave me such wonderful, freezing-cold care and the Plissoft brush made the soap lather richly enough for five guys to shave with. The Junjie/Astra combination helped to get me BBS without any issues whatsoever!

1940's NDC Gillette Tech (ball end).
1956 Gillette Blue Blade.
Vintage Ever Ready 500PBT brush.
Maggards London Barbershop soap.
Vintage Jade East as splash.
Vintage Jade East cologne.



Today's shave was another great Tech shave. Even though these are considered mild razors, they almos always perform well for me. Long Live The Tech!!!

Blade: Gillette Platinum
Razor: 1964 Travel Tech
Brush: Trader Joes synthetic
Lather: TSD Lanolin Gunpowder
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Fine Platinum, Nivea sensitive balm
WTG, touch-up

No pic again due to travel. A wet shaving convert of mine is also on this trip and allowed me to try the TSD Gunpowder. It was a great soap just like I expected. The scent is different. I think Gunpowder is an apt term. I can't really describe it. But nice performance.

I hope to post pictures of these shaves on Sunday when I get back to my computer. My iPhone pics are always sideways!

Birthday Shave - what else would be on my cake?
Tabac never fails. The lather felt especially creamy today for some reason, maybe it mixed well with the Body Shop Tea Tree face wash suds I did not rinse. The shave was nearly effortless and drama free. I used a mixture of Tabac and Shuyak Island for aftershave, and it feels and smells great.
