Pretty relaxing day today. Went fishing around 5 am and got back around 11 am. Cooked lunch for the wife and kids and the wife and my two youngest all feel asleep so me and my oldest went up to the park to get some fresh air and spend some quality time together. She was so excited about picking up the flowers even though they make her sneeze. You try explaining allergies to a 4 year old....it doesn't work. All in all a great peaceful day. Kids are in bed and SWMBO is watching tv. Hope everyone else is having a great day.
I've been on yet another business trip. It was 81 degrees at home on Tuesday. I got to northern Wisconsin on Wednesday and it looked like this. Today it looked like this. I'm ready to go home
Went to a local auction. No shaving stuff, but bought some stuff to trade with a local cobbler. Kinda a thing we have going. I buy vintage shoe lasts and cobblers tables, and get some nice shoes from him. Apparently he used to do the auction thing too, and has a few straights, might be a different type of trade this time around. Also scored a nice rug for the living room.
Back from a trip to Delaware for a tournament; the last of the indoor season. I (barely) scored a personal best of 467. Although it was my best, I missed several shots, so I feel like I could have done better. As I have only shot 2 tournaments this season, I am not beating myself up over this. The fact is that it was a fun day, and I even got to shoot with another woman around my age.
Not a good day. I have been in planes or airports for 8 hours and I should have been home already. They just de-iced my plane in Las Vegas. It almost 60 degrees outside and they are spraying a plane that has been on the ground for two hours. Aargh!
De Delivered goods to the cobbler today. He's going to look for the straights, and what could be either an auto strop or rolls razor by his vague description. He said it was a razor with some kind of box and key that fit the razor. Hoping for a rolls. Since he does leather work, perhaps I can get beginners strop out of the deal too.
Why is it that cats always seem to know when your about to open a can..any can..they just know. So I'm opening the salmon for lunch and Dusty comes trotting in right on cue..comes up to the feet..says your salmon, give it to me now!..you know like that scene from Terminator..the one with that Thorogood Song Bad to the Bone. Ya ya I said, keep your fur on, I'm getting to it. Don't make me climb up there he says..oh and after I'm finished gorging myself, how bout' getting on some of that Muddy Waters compilation. Nothing like some good after dinner blues I always say..he says. Geez and we think we're the ones training the animals..
Yesterday we had a lovely breakfast, where I used my new Minion egg holder that my son bouthe for me as a present. Afterwards my mom and her 'boyfriend' visited (she's 76, he's 79). We had a nice and cosy afternoon together. Today I finally got a call for the job of train machinist that I applied for a month ago. The conversation went well, so tomorrow there will be a next telephone interview. If that goes well, then I can visit the head quarters of the railroad company on Friday. And if I still behave right there will by psychological and physical tests as well. As a shave nutter I will stand no chance at all at the psychological test. But I'm going to try my best anyway.
