Wonderful gear! How is the scent of the SV Cosmo?

 

Good morning everyone! Please ignore the date on my photo, I prepped it yesterday with my planned gear and had a brain fart forgetting to advance the date lol. Marvelous shave this morning. Shaving with the Krona is so easy, getting the angle correct is almost automatic and something about the head geometry makes it feel mild whilst still being quite efficient. Third day on the Sputnik and it shows no signs of slowing, it is still very sharp and very smooth. Two Passes with a little touch up and man am I smooth, BBS all around! Last night I had a great shave. The lather was the best I ever got out of mitchell's wool fat (I 've not had problems with the fat it was just extra good last night).

Here's the list of gear

Mitchell's wool fat soap
1953 tech head on a bali victory handle.
shark stainless steel blade (third use).
26mm plissoft monster brush.
aftershave 50/50 mix of thayers lemon witch hazel- sieta machos colgne.
fruit of the earth aloe vera gel

The plissoft monster brush works great, whips up a lather in no time and is super soft.

How long does the scent last when you mix it with the WH ?

 

Not too long. I don't want a lot of scent to begin with so it works well for me. I can smell it probably more than others can. I've never wanted to be someone who announces their presence with strong and loud after shave.

Do you just mix a little of both in your hand or do you add it into the bottle? I've been considering getting a spray bottle for my witch hazel and adding in some scent.

Wostenholm Week, Day 4— Another frame back razor from George Wostenholm & Son; this model with a uniquely-style tang.
I really enjoy holding this razor with its substantial, heavy-jimped thumb notch as it is so easy to maneuver. Three pass, super smooth shave!

I pour some witch hazel into my left palm (a good bit) and then shake or spritz the after shave into the pool of witch hazel. Then I mix it together with both hands and splash on my face. I do that most of the time and that's what I've done if I say witch hazel "enhanced" with something in my SOTD posts. Some days I'll use witch hazel by itself first and then apply the after shave after the hazel has dried down some. I'll write "Witch hazel splash, after shave, Nivea balm" in my posts when I do that, leaving out the "enhanced" term. Just depends on the day and how much time I have.

Using a spray bottle would be a good idea. @Jayaruh uses those a lot but he doesn't mix them together. You could mix hazel and after shave in the proportions you wanted. I like to vary up the scents so I haven't mixed them.

I was using my Krona last week. It's one of my best shaving razors.............
