My first Goodwill razor has arrived in Hendersonville from Germany. That means, Lord willing, I will be using this baby in tomorrow's shave.

 

That is the best looking goodwill out of the ones I've seen. That base plate is awesome looking.

 

This one was made in England and marketed to France.

 

What does it shave like; can you compare/contrast it with anything?

 

That is a beauty. I must say " Goodwill hunting"

For those of you that may be Interested. There is a Watts razor on eBay right now. Never seen one of this before and it looks pretty cool.

 

This is my Goodwill razor cleaned up. If I had been thinking I would have posted my SOD here last week when it was up in the rotation.

Need assistance gents. I can't seem to identify this razor. Mr. Razor doesn't have this razor listed
Edit* mr razor has it listed with the French service set and Jewelry set. But I'm not sure if this is the same one.

 

Hello Jorvaljr, that razor appears to be an English Gillette Long Comb New. Those are aftermarket cases often seen in Europe. I have two of that particular case, if it is not a Single Ring case.

 

Thank you for the info. So they made knock off Gillette cases in Europe? Wow!

 

I just looked at this case again, and I didn't notice a couple of things when I looked at it before. I think it must be a mismatched case, because I think it is a Single Ring Canadian case. Not original to that razor. Sorry I didn't catch that before.

I shaved with it this morning. And it went decent. The handle is waaaay thinner than I'm used to. I paired it with the new Gillette platinum plus blades and I got lots of weepers and some irritation.. I don't think the blade and I are on the same page.. I used that blade in a red tip and it didn't agree with me with that razor either .

 

Hello all, Good Morning! Happy Sunday! Today I chose to shave with the newest addition to my ABC set collection. Here's the lineup-

1909 Gillette ABC set Shell pattern razor, Basketweave pattern case.
1944 Gillette Blue Blade (3).
Kent BLK2 badger hair brush.
Proraso Red canned goo.
Captains Choice Sandalwood as splash.
Vintage English Leather cologne.



This morning I had a great shave. This razor set is perhaps one of the best deals I had ever gotten from eBay. I don't believe it has been used much if at all. It has the wide teeth on the comb guards which seem to me not only more efficient, but a smoother shaving comb. I had two days growth on my face, and this razor/blade combo whacked it right off. I'll call this shave a two pass DFS because of my trouble spots. All in all a great shave!
