Hi everyone, After having used and loved the Shavemac 944 over the last 5 years, I ordered a custom shavemac with the following specifications: D01 Silvertip 3 band badger hair and the Shaving Brush 25000 handle (Tortoise Imitation) 23 mm knot and 50mm loft D01 Silvertip hair, 3 band Fan shaped knot For face lathering creams / soaps Handle height: 50mm I received the brush just now in office and am excited about using it tomorrow morning. Scritchy! It felt scritchy on the face, both dry and after being soaked for a few minutes. My first shave with this brush was not as pleasant as I expected. I was expecting it to be similar to the Shavemac 944 D01 3 band I had which is pillow-soft on the face. Since the Shavemac 944 D01 3 band was bought 5 years back, I cant remember how it felt the first few times. Does the D01 3 band knot take time to break-in and soften?
I have found it does break in somewhat. Also, I found it more pleasant when I used the brush several days in a row.
