Hi.........I am looking for a new brush. I have been using an Omega Pro Boar brush 10049 and a RazoRock Synthetic and I am looking for something that isn't as tall as the Omega and a step up in quality. Not really liking the RazoRock brush. Looking to spend $50.-60.00 and I would like to try a badger brush if possible. Any recommendations? Thanks.....
Semogue 2015HD Simpson's Special 1 in Best Badger Vulfix 2235S Whipped Dog Silvertip I haven't used any of the above brushes, but all of the brands are high quality, and you'll be getting a silvertip or silvertip equivalent. And they can all be found in your price range. Do you face or bowl lather, and do you use creams or soaps? My recommendations could be narrowed down a bit more if I had that information. If you like the backbone of a boar brush, and just want something a little softer, one of @Jayaruh 's handles with a two band Badger knot would probably fit the bill nicely.
Still suggest Whipped Dog Silvertip. Contact Larry at Whipped Dog and he'll guide you thru your selection. Great customer service.
+1 on Larry. Great products, prices, shipping, and customer service. A pleasure to do business with him.
I picked up a vie-long horse hair brush (can't remember the model number, had a dark reddish handle) I love it. Soft and whips great lather. I only paid $16.00 for it on Amazon. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
I would recommend Brushguy.com or Johnsbrushes.com. Hand poured resin handles, hand turned, with Virginia Sheng 22mm silvertip knots in your price range. Fantastic brushes. Brushguy Johnsbrushes (John Michaud)
I have a brush that I bought from John at johnsbushes. He's on Etsy. The brushes are top quality. I have a red, white and blue barber pole type brush with a silvertip knot. He also makes custom brushes as well which I well. Great work and I recommend him highly.
Yep. I am planning a custom from John for Christmas. Not certain what it will look like yet. Want it to be special.
You may know him by his name, Matthew North Marting. Or not. There are a ton of brushmakers out there.
