Fashion razor arrived toady, I feel so Schick!

Ok, actually it's an EverSharp, but it's still a cool little razor. Cleaned it up, and plan to test out on Friday. That is if I can resist trying it out tomorrow AM.

What! My G8 is the second most aggressive razor I own...:shocked003: I would say my G8 is as aggressive as my E2, but the E2 is a tad smoother....but the G8 saves just as close without neary a weeper and the E2, while being a tad smoother also usually leaves at least one weeper....

The relationship between my early E2 and my G8 sounds a little complicated, but the are very similar for the most part....Except the E2 is a hair smoother and the G8 has a better grip....but I would say they are the same on the aggressive scale....

And you are very fashionable my man....These razors look as great as they shave....and as close as this one will shave you....you will be very Schick (sic) indeed....}8^))

I swear I feel Eversharp made a fatal error....If they had named this the Men's Ultimate Travel -jector....It would have been huge!

I like to amp up my G series with a Personna blade so that they are less mild. However, when testing the full series I found the Plus Platinums to be slight better still and a modified feather to be the best. Personnas are easiest to acquire and a step above the Schicks for me. YMMV, of course. :happy005:

Isn't that strange. My E2 will tear my face up if I'm not careful while the G8 seems Tech-like in its mildness. You are "da man" in the injector world so I guess I'm going to have to revisit both. Then again I could just be confused?

It depends what blades are being used in these Injectors..It can Change them Dramatically..The Type G can feel more Aggressive because its not as Smooth..The Type E 2s are Smoother so they are Deceptively Aggressive..Moreover the Later Type E 2s were Far Milder than Early Type E 2..I am not a particular Fan of the later Type E 2 Injectors..I am of the Humble Opinion that they Sorta Mucked up the Geometry of them..But that's Just me Talkin..:)

I've noticed a slight difference in the E2 safety bars. Is that an indication of newer vs later E2's ? Pictures :)

I have Posted this many Times Now..There were actually Four Types of E 2s..I never had the 4th One which has a Centred Spring the same as the One on the Far Right..The 4th One had a top spring the same as the others though..The One on the Far right is the 1941 Model with the Circles Embossed on Top..;)

I am thinking of spending all of May using my Schick G1 as well as a GEM Featherweight. The G1 will be used on weekdays and the GEM on weekends, perhaps. I think I'll lock down in a rule-type setup with one soap the whole month. We'll see. But I look forward to learning and sharing my experiences in this thread with you guys.

Thanks Billy. It seems that most of the one's I see here are similar to the spring on the far right as far as the spring appears. I've yet to come across a U.S. 41 with embossed circles but looking out.

Nice G2! They don't seem to come up often on eBay. I think they are harder to find that Ds and Fs.

Here's a picture from the auction. I have not been able to get a good pic yet:

No inaugural run this AM, ran the Knack razor with Astra Platinum for the second day. Will be switching over to SE for a few days starting tomorrow. Perhaps, I'll get a pic of my modest injector collection up here soon. Up to four injectors now plus a GEM SE.

Well... After cleaning, I loaded up a chick and prepared for my typical three pass shave. The razor came sans blade, so I loaded a used blade and followed up with loading a fresh chick.
First thing I noticed was a slight rattle in the razor, but all looked okay and didn't give it much more thought. The first thing I noticed, is this thing seems quite aggressive, but IMHO that's a positive. First and second pass were great. Lathered up for third pass and started ATG on my left cheek and something felt "weird". I looked at the razor and the blade was missing:eek: So I sloooowly drained the water from the sink and rinsed the blade off and put the blade back in by hand without using the injector! So the third pass was completed using my E.
So I looked it over and was able to easily move the spring from it's position, and drop the lower part. I think my spring has been sprung:shocked003: It appears the previous owner was naughty with my new razor:(
Is there any help for me and my razor? This really chaps my ----.

Depending on the amount of play you can tweak the spring with a set of long nose pliers with a cloth to protect it but that does sounds very loose..Its very much a Donald Duck thing.. @Karl G has had some Luck with this Method..:)
